Some people need to understand that if they contribute to the chaos at the stage door, Julia will get sick of it and start sneaking out another exit, like some other performers do (Joanne Gleason, Rue McClanahan, etc.)
I think the management of the theater should have foreseen this and come up with some reasonable crowd control ideas to keep fans safe and Julie at ease while the signing goes on. Otherwise, I don't see this lasting very long. There is a reason why she has bodyguards, if this chaos goes on, trust me, there will be fewer signings.
Boy From Oz and Sweet Charity had pretty good crowd control, too, in addition to the aforementioned WT.

I hope that the crowds die down when I go at the end of April or that they organize it better. When I stayed after for Billy Crystal there were only like 10 people there, and that was a bit into the run, so I can't imagine there will be hundreds of people later in the run. Many people probably want to be the "first" to meet Julia.

Well it's a shame it's not organized.
The craziest experience I had was with July of 04 with Paige Davis in CHICAGO. She was still on Trading Spaces, so she was very hot.
The crowd was insane. No organization at all. Just a huge mob of people, pushing, shoving, etc. Paige looked scared.
I returned several weeks later with Paige, and it was better, thankfully.
Julia needs rules like Brooke Shields, and Christina Applegate. Brooke would ONLY sign show related material, because she is one of the most photographed woman. There are even racy pictures of her as a child, that her mother made her take. And sickos could sometimes bring them to the stage door. So it was a smart rule.

My friend went to the stage door tonight and got there after the show let out. She said that it was a mobscene (sp?). She only saw the top of Julia's head when she came out. Also, there were barricades and people weren't pushing that much. I hope this dies down soon!

What do you mean it will be crazy around Tony time? She better not get a nomination. She doesn't deserve it at all.

When I staged foor after I saw Wonderfull Town some people had child pics of her and I thought that was just ridiculous.

I was suprised when i walked pass today at the lack of barricades......
Boy from Oz was not controlled by anymeans... the only thing they dd was shut down the street...
I really feel like Julia should just sign every playbill so when the audience walks in they get her signature and then end of story.

I was actually there tonight and got to meet Julia, Paul & Bradley. While it was chaotic, as soon as she came out some people in the front pushed the barricade and almost knocked it over. WHY ON EARTH WOULD PEOPLE IN THE FRONT ROW DO THAT???? YOU ARE IN THE FRONT. It is very rude and it probably scared the crap out of her. She only signed a few more on our side and went to the other side right after. I wish people would just be more polite and give those of us who are a break!
