This is actually a great show
Of course, I relate to betty and LOVE DEVIL WEARS PRADA... and Ava
re: Ava Gaudet in Ugly Betty#3
Posted: 9/28/06 at 9:38pmI watched about 10 minutes of that...looked good, but I'm surprised I didn't notice Ava (maybe I did and just subconciously thought the actress looked familiar). Who exactly is the character of Gina? Where might I have seen her in the show?
re: Ava Gaudet in Ugly Betty#4
Posted: 9/28/06 at 9:42pmShe was Betty's neighbor who stole her boyfriend. Don't think she was shown in the beginning, only from far away.

SPOILER
Gina is Betty's neighbor. She stole Betty's boyfriend just to get a discount on a plasma TV (he works in a store). Betty stormed in on Gina and another man who she tought was Walter (the boyfriend). When Betty left, she slammed the door and knocked Gina's plasma TV off the wall.

Posted: 9/28/06 at 11:53pmI'm loving this show. Most of the actors involved were fantastic, but America Ferrera especially was just so, so flawless in her performance. I felt so badly for her, and she was just so dynamic and heartfelt in her portrayal. Thursday night is definitely my new favorite night of television.

Gina Gershon was priceless. Hope her character appears occasionally to spice things up. Total genius of her.
Loved how the show played homage to THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA by playing KT Tunstall's "Suddenly I See" at the end of the show, which is the opening credits song for THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA.
FYI - Patricia Fields is the show's costume designer -- she also costumed THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and SEX AND THE CITY.

Posted: 9/29/06 at 6:27pmWouldn't it be the chick who supposedly "died"? Or maybe I missed that part? I sort of missed the beginging. It's such a great show though. I'm really hooked into it. Esp with Grey's Anatomy right after it. Thursday night is now the best block of television. If only there was some way to watch the Office while I watch the other two. Damn, I need a Tivo.

Posted: 9/29/06 at 7:28pmI really loved how sweet and real America was but i found the show didn't quite get whether it wanted to be campy and hokey or serious and heartfelt. I'll tune in again to see where it goes.

Ugly Betty ROCKS!
Check it out if you get the chance. It is unlike anything currently on TV. Best new show of the season IMHO.
