Avenue Q

What is your favorite Avenue Q song and why?

My favorite is "I Wish I Could Go Back To College" because everything that they talk about (Except "**** my TA") is exactly what college is like and it is good to think back.

My girlfriend's favorite is "What do you do with a BA in English?" because she is graduated with a BA in English and can't find anything to do with it. She thinks it is hillarious, as do I.

All right, I'll post.

My favorite song is The More you Ruv Someone. This is because, and I can say this with absolutely no hyperbole, that Ann Harada is the funniest person alive. And ever.

re: Avenue Q

My favourite Avenue Q song is "there's a fine fine line", I feel indentified with that song! and the music is wonderful...
Yesterday my favourite song was "mix tape"... I love the music and the lyrics made me laugh (specially when she says "I am the walrus")

There's a Fine Fine Line and The Internet Is For Porn.

re: Avenue Q

I think some of the songs, such as The Internet Is For Porn, get very old after listening to them a lot...but they are still hilarious!

re: Avenue Q

I like "Purpose," "If you were gay," and every other song. They are all great songs.

re: Avenue Q

I love "Schadenfreude", mostly because of Rick and Natalie's enthusiastic performance of it.

re: Avenue Q

I agree with Jon.

re: Avenue Q

Everyone's a Little Bit Racist or Schadenfreude. They are both great.

re: Avenue Q

My favorite is "My Girlfriend Who Lives in Canada" cause John T is so hysterical in that song, but the best songs are "Fine Fine Line" and "Purpose" in my opinion, but i love every one of them!

If you were gay and Internet is for Porn.
Seven and a half cents doesn't buy a hell of a lot!

re: Avenue Q

Schadenfreude...perhaps my own personal mantra...

re: Avenue Q

I can't choose just one!

- "A Fine, Fine Line" because it's so beautiful and true. When I first heard it, I was really taken with how honest it was.

- "For Now", again because it's really honest

- "Everyone's A Little Bit Racist" is the funniest song, ever!

- "What Do You Do with a BA in English?", because I can identify with it (I have no idea what to do with my own BA in English)

- "Purpose", for same reason as above.

re: Avenue Q

I had trouble only picking one,
So... My first would be "Sucks to be Me"
Then "For Now" both hold so true sometimes.

re: Avenue Q

It sucks to be me, Schadenfreude, If you were gay, and Everyone's a little bit racist

Or the whole album. :)

re: Avenue Q

Oh boy. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
My favorite song is probably "Fantasies Come True" with "Purpose" as a close 2nd. The funny ones are great and still bring a smile to my face when I hear them (especially when I play them for other people for their first time) but I had the exact same reaction to these songs today as I did the first time (except now I know the lyrics by heart).
However, Avenue Q is probably the only CD I have where I don't feel I have to skip to my favorites because I love them all. Sorry, ruv dem all! re: Avenue Q

It Sucks To Be Me, Internet is for Porn, Everyone's a Little Bit Racist and For Now.

re: Avenue Q

Fantasies Come True is definitely my favorite. I love how John Tartaglia gets to go back and forth between Rod and Princeton in the same song. Makes me happy. Fine, Fine Line is a close second. I agree that the funnier ones get kind of old, (like Internet is for Porn, Everyone's A Little Bit Racist") but I still love them.

re: Avenue Q

Ooh, I love "Fantasies" too...especially Nicky talking in his sleep.

I got the Q Album for my birthday last week and listened to it non-stop. As a result, while I was taking my math final at school, I had a hard time concentrating because "Everyone's a little bit racist" kept playing in my head. The next day it happened again during French, and I started to go crazy...

re: Avenue Q

Yeah, Nicky talking in his sleep is hilarious. I was doing an improv show at schools and one of my friends was in it as well. It was a murder myster dinner thing (really dumb, but we were begged to do it). So we're all arguing about something in the show, and he randomly says "I know, who painted the kitten?" I think I was the only one who heard it, and i started laughing so hard. It's just one of those things that always makes me laugh. I was able to pull myself together and continue on, however. That is my story.

re: Avenue Q

"I Wish I Could Go Back To College" is my favorite, and I haven't even gotten to college yet! Follows by "There's a Fine, Fine Line."

re: Avenue Q

Ha! this is great i just got the CD today. Its all i have been listening too. Fantasies is great. Its so sweet. Schadenfreude comes in at a close second. But there is nothing on the CD that i dont like so far.

re: Avenue Q

My favorite is "It Sucks to Be Me". The other ones I really like are "Schadenfreude" and "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist". They are all extremely clever songs with great lyrics that make me laugh soo much!
