re: Awards fashions, what the heck?????

Some examples...

Sutton Foster's a hit-or-miss case fashion-wise... half the time she looks fabulous. The rest of the time, it's total Go Fug Yourself material.

Carolee Carmello, bless her soul, looked like a hooker at the 06 Drama Desks. A very talented, blow-the-roof-off-the-theatre hooker.

Sara Ramirez, 2005 Tony Awards. Need I say more?

One might say that doing 8 shows a week doesn't allow time for much shopping, but some of the ensembles people on Broadway put together have been simply ludicrous.

Actually you're right! I know close to nothing about "fashion" but when looking at the pictures I was wondering why someone would dress so trashy to an awards ceremony? But Michael and John look nice!

re: Awards fashions, what the heck?????

I just saw this thread after I emailed my friends the link to show them how God-awful everyone looked at this thing! What the heck!!

Patricia Elliot's ensemble was a complete disaster, Eve Best looked like she was going to dinner at the Olive Garden, Mary Birdsong's combination of red and white gingham shoes with a blue-and white polka-dotted bolero and a satin blue dress confused the heck out of me -- I mean, is she going to the opera, a picnic, her grandparents' 50th anniversary party...??

I'll give Bambi Lynn a pass because she's a Broadway vet, but I was still inwardly screaming at that get-up. Jennifer Ehle was dressed for a day at Wimbledon, and there are others, but those are some of my observations.

Let's not forget Patti LuPone's dress from last years Tonys. She was going for the "Ursula in Little Mermaid" look.
I adore these people, but they shouldn't dress themselves.

There wouldn't be lights bright enough!

Well, besides the fashion, the photos always capture every little imperfection on the actor's faces. I don't know photography well, but they clarity of the photos are so sharp and bright, that everything can be seen. Sometimes I feel bad for the people!

I think that Eve Best is stunning. She reminds me a lot of Catherine Keener, in that they're both very natural beauties. What they were born with is sexier and more attractive than anything you can buy at Mac.

Nothing wrong with both. Most natural beauties know how to enhance it with makeup.

Wow, I don't think I've ever laughed so hard. Can someone please tell me what Julie Wilson was on when she got dressed?

I believe that she has clear braces, but I could be wrong.

Donna Murphy seems like the only person to have any sense of style at all.

I though Davie was stunning at the Theatre World Awards.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Oh my god, Erin Davie forgot to put on clothes!

I thought she, Nilaja Sun, and Rosemary Harris were all stunning. Rosemary, tell your daughter, who is a hottie, to spiff it up a bit!

Hey, SG, at least she did her hair and makeup! Sometimes you just don't have time for every little detail.
