Please come support our production. We have an AMAZING cast of singers, and we are proudly rockin' the original 2004 version of the show.
The White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC) and Harrison Summer Theatre will present the Westchester Regional Premiere of the 2004 version of the musical BARE: A Pop Opera from July 26-28, 2013.
BARE: A Pop Opera is directed by Jeremy Quinn with musical direction by Stephen Ferri, choreography by Lexie Fennell Frare and lighting design by Jamie Roderick.
The cast includes Travis Amiel, Richie Barrella, Sarah-Teresa Brown, David Cronin, Colin Earyes, Kaitlin Ferrara, Natalia Fogarty, Kerri George, Terri-Ann Gordon, Aaron Michael Krueger, Darian Marchetto, Kurt McMannus, Triona O'Callaghan, Paulette Oliva, Thomas Oliverio, Sydney Parra, Analise Rios, Adam Salazar, Stephanie Savino, Melissa Trainor, and Adam Welsh.
Bare - A contemporary rock musical, BARE follows a group of teens wrestling with issues of identity, sexuality, and religion at a co-ed Catholic boarding school. Provocative, raw, and unyielding in its exploration of how today's generation navigates the tightrope between adolescence and adulthood, BARE examines the consequences of baring a soul-or hiding it from those who matter most. Music by Damon Intrabartolo and Book and Lyrics by Jon Hartmere.
BARE: A Pop Opera will be live on stage July 26-28, 2013 (Friday & Saturday evenings at 8PM; Sunday at 7PM).
To Purchase Tickets: call 914.328.1600 or order online at www.wppac.com or visit the WPPAC Box Office at 11 City Place, White Plains, NY 10601. For Group Sales, please call 914.328.1600. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students (22 and under).

BUMP! Are any of you fine theater people coming to see this? For every one of the hundreds of messages on this forum that bashed the revival at 2ST and asked for a production of the original, I'd think you'd be more excited. This is a professional production. We are a 28 minute train ride from Grand Central.
I would love to see it, but I won't be in the area. I just finished playing Matt in a production and loved the show.
I would certainly be excited if i could be in NYC on those 3 days, but unfortunately, i can't be. But i would certainly go to see it if if i were there.
Honestly (i may get shot) but i preferred the recent revival
I would be excited but I'm not going to be in Westchester. Also I saw it like two weeks ago when Sponge did a run at the York Theatre.

I am considering coming, but to be fair, the thread title is misleading.
The ORIGINAL version of BARE is the 2000 Los Angeles production.
The 2004 version of BARE is slightly revised from that and was produced only as a workshop production is not available to perform.
The LICENSED version of BARE (the one being performed here) is the 2007 version of the show. It is similar, but quite notably different than the 2004 version of the show.
A more accurate thread title would be "Come see BARE, THE ROCK OPERA, without the slimy fingerprints of Stafford Arima."

Lol at broadwayguy2! You make a good point. Our production is the licensed 2007 version, which is identical to the 2007 album (no Staffird Arima fingers in this one). We have a superb cast, hope you can make it out to see us!

I hope to.
Glad you didn't think I was being snarky. I was familiar with Bare as it received much press in 2000, then fell in love when I saw it in 2004. Honestly, for many reasons, it is my favorite version of the script overall (I could write an essay on THAT..) and I am sure many of us who climbed the stairs of the Midtown Community Courthouse in 2004 to a grubby little theatre would love to relive that.

Don't worry - having bad taste is not a capital offense.

Bare opens tomorrow at the White Plains Performing Arts Center. We have had a few fantastic tech runs and are so excited for you to see this production.
The regional premiere of Bare features a mix of NYC and Westchester stage actors and an amazing 8 piece band filled with Broadway musicians.
White Plains is a 30 minute train ride from GCT, and the theater is 2 blocks from the train station.

Wow... congrats. Your rehearsal footage sounds great! I've been a huge fan of the piece ever since 2004, and I'm glad that it's getting the life it deserves.
There's a production opening soon here in Los Angeles with some of the best promo pics I've ever seen, and I am so excited I can hardly wait. It's great to finally have the opportunity to get to see this show!
