why does it seem like so few shows are collecting....?
Because around the time collections started there were only about 15 shows that were open and not still in previews.
I believe the last day of collecting is the day before the Easter Bonnet competition on April 22 and 23.

I wonder if collections are going well. There doesn't seem to be much special being done.
As frogsfan said, a lot of it is because the season is so back-loaded. There are only 4 shows that have opened this season that weren't still in previews at the beginning of collections (Ann, Annie, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Cinderella (barely)), and 5 shows that have opened after 2009 (Once, Newsies, Nice Work, Spider-Man, and Book of Mormon). I'm sure all of the other shows collecting on Broadway are doing a great job collecting, but I haven't heard of anything novel being done by any of them for this year.

Book of Mormon tour had:
Tote bags for $20
Aprons - $20
Signed Posters - $80
They are doing quite well with collections and are really trying to win again. Their amount raised so far seems really good.

Posted: 3/31/13 at 2:26amMikeM, totally agree. I live on the west coast so I'm not there for all the collection periods, but some creative ones in the last couple years I've seen 1) Take your picture with Corbin Bleu in the VIP lounge at the Rodgers during his In the Heights run (the teenyboppers went freaking nuts over this one, as I left the theater there were probably 50 people in line at $100 per) 2) backstage tour and meet the principals in Mary Poppins...I think it was $250 and worth every penny. from what I saw a few weeks ago and what I'm hearing on this board, the shows at the moment just seem to kind of be mailing it in...

Bump! Any new news?
Last night LUCKY GUY opened and I'm sure they will start collecting sometime this week and selling posters + other things. Later this week KINKY BOOTS opens as well. If anyone is there keep us posted!
How about VANYA? Anything there?

I was at Vanya et al on Saturday night, and they did not make any announcements or do any collections at the end of the show.
I didn't go by the merch stand though, so I don't know if they would sell something and maybe not announce it?

Do you know what is going to be sold at LUCKY GUY (posters? playbills? both? how much? are they available now)?
Anyone know if HANDS ON A HARD BODY is participating and if they have posters?

Hardbody isn't collecting as of this current weekend and I'm relatively sure it hasn't been added to the list of shows for this week.

Has anyone been to the performance of the Easter Bonnet competition?
If so, will they be selling signed merchandise? I land in NYC on the day of the Monday performance and have been debating about buying a ticket.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming the only item that would be sold at the Easter Bonnet Competition is the event poster.
Any other updates?

Posted: 4/12/13 at 9:15pmAs of Good Friday Cinderella was offering opening night playbills and windowcards. I bought a playbill because it opened on my birthday and I love all things Cinderella. I have to admit I was a little disappointed to find that there was nothing that showed it to be an opening night playbill.

Posted: 4/12/13 at 10:11pmEris- did you look on the page of the Playbill that has the show info? If it was an opening night Playbill, it should say "Opening Night" and the date right above "Broadway Theatre/ 1681 Broadway...."
