A little surprised that Blithe Spirit won Best Revival of a Play. I would have thought that The Norman Conquests would have picked that up.
I would have thought ANYthing other than Blithe Spirit would pick it up. I would have loved to see Cripple or Our Town take it, but I actually enjoyed every single other nominee more. Well...except Exit the King.
Surprised by both play categories. Didn't most all of the reviews for "God of Carnage" (and I think that title is AWFUL), say that the actors made the play? And that the play itself was pretty slight? I'm surprised it keeps getting all this love. I hope, though I doubt it will, that "reasons to be pretty" wins the Tony. And "Blithe Spirit" over "The Norman Conquests" or "Our Town"? C'mon!
I agree with 3/4 of these. I liked Blithe Spirit a lot, but would have preferred Exit the King to win.
What a wonderful event!
It seemed like more of a tribute to all the actors and shows then an award show. It was interesting to hear comments from new, young actors and seasoned professionals on the same stage.
