I found myself laughing more often than the play probably deserved, largely over the sheer outrageousness of the characters and some over-the-top performances. Yes, I got a huge kick out of David Coombers' Paul Lynde-like character. Is it a well-made play? Hardly. Yet hubby and I could appreciate numerous moments in this zany farce.
The worst thing I've even seen, by the way, was an execrable, seemingly interminable dishrag of a "play" entitled NORMA DOES MEN. I was taken in by the cute title. That's what I get for being a SUNSET BOULEVARD fan.

Just read the Times' review. I think he went a bit over the top about the volume. Yes,the music is loud but they don't shout so loud that you can't hear a cell phome.

They just announcex that they are extending thru Oct. 21st. Good for them. It isn't what I would call a conventional play. It ays more like a sitcom. I have now seen it twice and I think it iz worth checking out.
