I hope John was really hungry
Great pictures! I wish I could've seen that.
I have never seen nor heard of Tom Andersen. Who is he? He is extremely hot, IMO.
that pic of Hugh and Matt has brought great joy to my otherwise joyless day.
Could Danny Reichard be ANY cuter?!
Indeed he can WBAF...when he sings about his lover, Dick Cheney
WAT, I'm not entirely sure, but Tom did sing an adorable song...about playing right field for his little league team because that's where the sucky players go, and how sad/lonely it was to be playing right field, until he caught the ball, and he realized how important it was to be playing right field. It was so cute, plus I'm a huge baseball fan, so there's an added bonus.
That sounds like a great song...is it from a show?
I'm not sure...the program just says it's by Willy Welch.
Hmm...okay thanks, I'm off to do some detective work.
I'm off to marry Danny Rei.
Awwww...that sounds like such a cute song. If I had been there to hear him sing it, I would probably like him even more! (baseball fan here too)
Me too.
So, apparently Willy Welch is a children's song writer, known as Mr. Willy to his fans...Does that creep anyone else out?

Especially listen to the track titled, "Having fun in the tub".
More pics!

To answer 2 questions: Tom Andersen is a 5-time MAC Award winner (the MAC Award is cabaret's equivalent of an Oscar), and he's sung at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. Time Out New York once called him 'simply the finest male vocalist in town,' and Betty Buckley says 'he's a great singer who can sing everything.' When he sang 'Anyone Can Whistle' at Weill Recital Hall, Stephen Sondheim met him afterward and told him, 'You're terrific! And you made me cry.' Tom's also a songwriter. His best-known song is 'Yard Sale,' a story song about AIDS that has been performed around the world.
If you want to see more photos of Tom (with lotsa celebs), just go to his Gallery at www.tomandersen.com.
As for 'Playing Right Field,' it's a free-standing baseball song by Willy Welch. It's become one of Tom's signature songs.

Cape Twirl of Doom, a program and a song list was given out AFTER the concert. We wanted the songs to be a surprise, so we purposefully didn't put anything on your table. However, there were volunteers from Broadway Cares stationed at the front door after the show; they gave out programs and song lists to each person as he/she left. (BroadwayWorld.com was also nice enough to reproduce the program at the top of 'Photo Coverage: The Leading Men II.') ... Send me a private message with your address. I have a few programs left, so I'll pop one in the mail.
Ahhh, I left out one of the side doors a while later so that's why I didn't see them. Thanks so much!!
I'm stunned at the lack of paisley on Hugh Panaro.
"I'm stunned at the lack of paisley on Hugh Panaro."
Over dinner before the show, I said something about that to Cape Twirl..."When I found out Hugh was going to do the show, the first thing I thought wasn't 'What is he going to sing,' it was 'What is he going to wear?'"
How sad is that?
Wonderful show all around, too
Thank you for all the info, Mr. Wong. It looked like a great event.

That's what I was gonna say....
I didn't get a program either... But it's alright..
Those guys were well worth it anyway.
I had to laugh during the show because one of my friends and I always sing "Waiting for Life" in the car cause, being guys, we could never do it onstage. It was hysterical to actually hear it done by a guy. I LOVED it.
