Looked all over and didnt see a thread for this. Apologies if its out there and I missed it.
Anyone else see this yet? I my husband got me a Signature subscription for Christmas and Im so glad he did because we caught this last night and I loved every second of it. I have some small reservations about the more lecture-laden bits of act two, but even those felt built into the plays critique of identity. What a beautifully constructed evening of theatre this is. So well-balanced.
Thought the performances were uniformly excellent, but especially the women - particularly Jessica Frances Dukes as Vera and Jenni Barber as Gloria. The arch of their relationship is really wonderfully laid out. Dukes digs into every single moment of playing Vera. A truly remarkable performance from her.
Highly recommend this. I had a fantastic time, as did the audience around me. Met some really lovely ladies next to and behind us. One of those evenings out that are so joyful that you cant help but bond with the people around you.
