Back from the theater... it was, interesting... to say the least... haha. I had heard the show was silly and over-the-top, but i dont think i was quite prepared for just how insane it was. Overall though, it was fun. It had its moments, some really funny moments. And then there were times where I was scratching my head trying to figure out what the heck I was watching. Haha. But in a good way. In a crazy out-of-this-world way.
Kerry and Cheyenne were great. The whole cast was great. Some very talented folks here. I have to say I didnt think much of Whoopi. She was so... mediocre. I get that her role was small, but the "evil woman" also had a small role and she was very memorable. Good for Whoops I guess... I'm sure she's having fun. Best of luck to her during her run... the audience ate her up.

Thanks! It took us a while to get out of the theater and by the time we got to the stage door the crowds were pretty huge. Everyone cramming together to get a glimpse of Whoops. I did the best I could. Trying to squeeze my huge camera thru the crowds.
Wanted to share them with you all...
I love the last picture. It's really excellent! Thanks for your thoughts on XANADU, as well.
what kind of camera do you have? Those are amazing shots!
wonderfulwiz - if you want to snatch up the last photo, here it is in bigger size:
brian - i shoot with the Canon 40D. The lens I used to take these photos was the Canon 24-70mm 2.8L USM lens. I also used the Canon Speedlite 580EX II off camera flash to help with the poor outside lighting.
And I like to think I'm a somewhat decent photographer... :)
Hope that helps.
Yes those are fantastic shots. They are better than some publicity shots i've seen.
Just got back as well. Loved seeing everyone again !!! Whoopi was o.k. I think she will get better as she gets her timing down.
Mary was back, and was her usual amazing self !!! And Curtis hugged me during "All Over the World", so it was all good !!! LOL
Agree... great pics !!!!
I just made that pic of 44th street my desktop background. I hope you don't mind but it just makes me so happy!
Testing - where were you sitting? we did the student rush thing and were way off to the side. great view though. no obstruction.
I was surprised at just how simple this show was. Barely no sets, a tiny cast (playing multiple roles), no real big special effects... and yet everything ran pretty smoothly... i guess thats a true testament to a great cast. everyone on their game.
Court - by all means go ahead! it actually makes me happier to know someone enjoyed it that much! :)
I was on-stage on the far right, front row--- I had the Xan hat on... :))
Its always a good time !!!
You photos give me an un-needed sobbing in the best way. BWW needs to hire you.
testing - crazy! i was watching the on-stage folks all night... funny how the cast joked around with you guys and stuff...
defying - thats a compliment... i think! :) i could certainly use the extra money haha... so BWW... i'm available for hire! :)
It is. Anything making fun of musicaltheaterfan3 is a good thing.
I heart that picture.
All of your pics are amazing, but that last one is an AMAZING PHOTO!
It's my background too!
I was there tonight, too. I actually enjoyed it a lot more tonight than I did when I saw it back in December. I had a lot of fun.
So how much did that camera kit set you back? Like $2,500?
emcee - thats cool. i wish i had known others were going. would have been fun to meet some of you fellow BWW-ers.
Miss Penny - hmmm... I'd say somewhere around $3200 if you count the Speedlite. Which is a bargain if you know anything about serious SLR cameras... My dream camera is the Canon 5D, but i wont be able to afford it for years.
and by then they'll have much better stuff out.

I was going to say $3,000 but I always like to hunt for a good bargain, so I thought maybe you got a really good deal.
i wish! i bought the 40D right when it came out, i'm sure you can find it for cheaper now. The lenses are hit-or-miss. They dont ever really drop in price, especially the popular ones like the 24-70mm. Its such a friggin pricey hobby. But i love it.
If only I could make a living off it.
Well, if you want to live in NYC, forget about that!

cubanpab, your pictures probably wouldn't turn out that much better with a Canon 5D than it already does on your 40D. I think the lens and the photographer matters more. Again, your pictures are great. Tack sharp.
