Great pictures, as always, cubanpab!
On the "small show, great cast" comment- amen to that. Just incredible. Though still deciding if Whoopi merits a rather-soon-visit.

Cubanpab, I know you just moved to NYC. That's why I'm saying forget about photography as a means to support yourself! As expensive as it is to live in DC, it's still no where near as expensive as NYC. That's why I "commute"!
Jeremiah, Go see Whoopi! She and the cast are having great fun up there, and the audience is so revved up...it was definitely the best audience I have seen the show with, and that makes a difference. I'm thinking about going back to see it on Saturday afternoon myself! I just love XANADU. It's just so clever and JOYOUS!

I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT but I've never brought it to NYC. Can't just slide it in the purse so I'm nervous it would make me a target.
I'm considering bringing it to Broadway on Broadway this year though.

Wow... that's an awesome extended picture showing the Helen Hayes and St. James. It got me to thinking... what Patti LuPone/Mama Rose would look like dressed as Calliope or Melpomene? I know zilch about PhotoShop, but perhaps someone out there could give it a go? from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

What I love about the last photo of the Hayes is that it ALMOST looks like a painting. Amazing picture. It's my background now, too.

Glad you enjoyed the show, Pab! From your posts last week, it sounded like you and your wife need some silly time.
Your pictures ARE amazing. The streetscape looks like a moment frozen in time, like it's 50 years from now and we're looking back at 2008.
And the closeups of Kerry and Cheyenne are gorgeous. I know they both are, but the pictures capture them beautifully.
Hope NYC is being a little kinder to you this week.

Just got back from seeing Xanadu. I have to say I was not expecting what I saw either. We got tickets from TKTS and I really didn't know much about the plot line. Like someone said, at some parts I was saying to myself "What the hell is going on". All in all though I have to say I enjoyed myself. The cast were great and the music was good. Some parts were very funny as well. I probably would not go see it again but I am glad I gave it a chance and saw it.

Jay - yeah, Kerry Butler was quite a hottie. On stage she looks like a cute chick but not really my taste... but up close and personal shes smokin. very attractive. and a great voice, and incredible comedic timing. definitely the funniest cast member in the show. i remember when we saw her in Hairspray years and years ago we thought the same thing... best singer in the show and funniest too.
woo-hoo to all the folks using it as a background! hahaha... i love that.
Pal - yeah this week has been MUCH better. i actually got a job end of last week, which made it easy for me to actually, you know, sleep and eat again! haha. pretty good job at a law firm. decent pay.
so i'm worry free for now...
Jess - i felt the exact same way. fun, for the most part. prob wouldnt see it again, but glad i saw it once... a unique show. very unique.

I wonder how many hundreds of us share the same wallpaper, now? All the photos were superb, but the shot of the theatres is amazing. I find myself just staring at my wallpaper.......... sounds like a country western song, doesn't it? Thanks for the wonderful photos!

I'm kind of stunned at how many peope like that photo. I think it's cool but in all honesty I don't think there's anything special about it. I think I have taken much better photos of the city. I'm glad so many of you enjoyed it.

The photos ARE beautiful, but what my kids really love is that you took photos of their current favorite show and its stars! Thank you!
