How was Jane Krakowski in the 95 revival?
One would assume she'd play up the humor of the situation.
I wonder how much is lost by not including "Tick Tock." There's the "what she's thinking/what he's thinking" part, and also April says she loves him and he can't respond. Then again, wasn't it added later anyway as a dance number for Kathy? I've never seen it staged, but maybe none of it is particularly important.
I agree with you, robbiej... Bobby's a more complex character if he's secure about his sexuality and still not able to commit, because there are deeper issues going on there.
I feel that the whole Bobby is gay doesnt play out. It doesnt really make sense, but it may be that, in the early 70's there was a much bigger and deeper closet and alot of gay men saw themselves in Bobby. I may be wrong, and I'm no youngster, but the only fans of the show that I've known that argue that he is are much older than me.
I did get to see the original cast in concert and Donna did the whole Tick Tock. I cried she was so amazing. I also cried when Pam Myers sang "Another Hundred People." None of the cast were missing anything in their performances (well, Elaine forgot the words to Little Things which only made her funnier, and Susan Browning was quite big and had a cast...she didnt move from her stool.) A magical nite.
I too disliked Company until seeing the show in Cincinatti last weekend. It is now in my Top 10 favorite musicals. "Be careful what you wish for" seems to me what Barcelona is about.
Pam Myers was at the George Furth lecture. If you live near Cincy and didn't see this free lecture, you missed out!
