Be More Chill Recording Comparison

What does everyone think of the new Broadway Cast Recording of Be More Chill compared to the original recording?

There’s some extended cuts that I love, like Do You Want a Ride. And The Smartphone Hour is great because Tiffany Mann’s voice is so powerful.

The main issue that I have is that Michael in the Bathroom just doesnt sound as good as the original recording and I just can’t place why. Maybe just less energy from George? I honestly don't know.

Generally, I don't like it. The new orchestrations are too distracting, and the tempo is off.

Agree with the sentiment I've seen here and elsewhere. They've tinkered with it far too much and it doesn't work nearly as well. Roland sounds whiney, Hsu sounds manic, and Salazar sounds like he's ready for a nap. Some of the new sci-fi/electronic sound effects work for me, but others are overbearing. I like the show and the OCR, but I'll be sticking to that one.

I’m just too used to the original recording and cast to get into this new recording but I do like the new song.
