This article mentions that someone else played Carole King in the workshops of Beautiful. Does anyone know who the actress was?

Posted: 6/10/14 at 10:39pmVanessa Ray is currently on Blue Bloods as pretty much a series regular so either she would have to do it for the time they are on hiatus or leave the show. I'd be sad to see her leave but it would be interesting to see her tackle this role

Wait, Vanessa Ray? As in Cece Drake from Pretty Little Liars? That's what showed up on my google.
Wow!!! Never knew she could sing!

Posted: 6/10/14 at 11:44pmI have heard that Debbie Shapiro Gravitte was involved as Caole at some point, though I don't know how reliable my source is.

somethingbypuccini, I believe Debbie Gravitte was involved at one point playing Genie Klein, Carole's mother.
It's my understanding that Vanessa Ray was Carole for the entire process developing the show but was unavailable for the actual production due to television commitments.
