I saw it back in October. I think Brooke Tansley and Steve Blanchard are still in it...they were both wonderful talents, especially Blanchard's portrayel of the beast. It it worth seeing? Sure, why not? I personally enjoyed the show and wouldn't mind seeing it again. The costumes, set, and lighting are beautiful. "If I Could Love Her" was a very touching song, and the show also had very fun numbers like "Me", "Gaston", "Be Our Guest", and "Human Again".
I don't think you should pay $100 for a ticket, though...try to find a discount for this one.

Posted: 7/22/05 at 1:04pmI saw it in February of this year on a spontaneous trip to the city. We got great orchestra seats from TKTS about 30 minutes before the show started. It was good but it's (obviously) getting a little bit on the old side. Beauty & The Beast is a timeless story though.. Steve Blanchard was excellent as the beast.

Posted: 7/22/05 at 1:26pmI saw it at the end of March. The show is what it is. IMO I do not think that it is worth seeing again, especially if you have already seen it once. But I am quite excited for when Ms. Brown takes over, in I believe...September.

Posted: 7/22/05 at 7:49pmThanks everyone. I may or may not being going to NYC this winter, so I'm just gathering some info on shows.

Posted: 7/22/05 at 7:52pmI saw it last Tuesday and IMO it is not the show it once was. It was still a fun night at the theater, but not worth 100 dollars for Orchestra seats.

Posted: 7/22/05 at 9:49pmI was having that same question as I passed the theater on the way to La Cage a while ago. Also, when the hell was Christy Carlson Romano in it? Did anyone see her and was she good?

Posted: 7/23/05 at 12:15amI saw it a couple of weeks ago (2nd time) and I feel its gone a bit downhill...I love Steve Blanchard as the Beast but I HATE the way that he does "If I Can't Love Her" --- can he not read music??/...He talks 3/4 of the song, and the only Amazing part of the song is the last note... "With MEEEEEEEE" (Which is a BEAUTIFUL F)

Yeah I saw her, I hope she NEVER does this role again, she did a HORRIBLE job, she just...sucked. I wouldn't even pay a penny to see her, thats how bad it was. Maybe I just saw 2 off night, but WHY DID I SEE IT 2 TIMES WITH HER? Yeah, she was just bad her verson of "A change in me" Just wanted me to kill myself.

I sang "If I Can't Love Her" in a vocal performance class of mine. I only sang the first half, though, because I don't do big, belted Fs. LOL!
I should see Beauty and the Beast again. I haven't seen it since its fifth anniversary with Andrea McArdle as Belle and James Barbour as the Beast.

Posted: 7/23/05 at 12:32amYes, I was sick and I was definitely forcing my vibrato. Not a good thing, but I wanted to sound decent and not monotone. But honestly, who doesn't force vibrato, at least subconsciously?

Posted: 7/23/05 at 12:37amVibratto is something that shouldn't be forced, at the beginning of my training I wanted a vibratto really bad so I would force it all the time, it wasn't doing any good for my voice so I stopped and then after a few months it just came naturally...So now I don't force anymore, its just natural, and I could care less if my vibratto came or not, as long as I hit the notes!!!

I know it shouldn't be forced, but I'm not a trained vocalist. I've never had a voice lesson in my life.
Ew, I'm totally shutting up. I don't like to threadjack!
