Classy.
Real classy.

Okay, first off - someone asked why I bumped this. Actually didn't realize how far back someone had posted. I rarely look at the date/time of the last post, so I didn't realize. That's the God honest truth.
She's not in the wrong line of work because she doesn't want her personal life being speculated over. She's a ****ing human being, for god's sake.
This thread is pointless and awful. Can't this all just be put to rest? The fact of the matter is, none of you know Laura OR iluv. You don't know whats true, whats not true, and its not your job to insult either of them. Just leave it be, it doesn't concern any of you. iluv did nothing more than answer questions and defend his friend. Because that's what you do when someone is insulting a close friend of yours. He didn't do a damn thing wrong, and it's making you all look extremely immature by mocking him with terms such as 'BFF'. Grow the hell up. I don't see why this is even an issue. As I said before - it concerns NONE OF YOU.
Amen to that.
Are we forgetting that they made Tina Maddigan the standby for a role that isn't very demanding? There was a reason they did that. Tina's role as Sophie in Mamma Mia! was much more demanding and she didn't have a standby.
Tina has done a phenomenal job in the role. It's widely known that the cast and producers adore her. That's because she's the real deal. What you see is what you get. You can't say that about many people.
10/1 will not be the last time you see Tina go on as Julia.
That's because she's the real deal.
So is Laura.
I'm in no way, shape or form making a comparison. Tina's work speaks for itself.
"Tina's role as Sophie in Mamma Mia! was much more demanding and she didn't have a standby."
Hmmmm, I like Tina, but Mamma Mia! isn't exactly Street Car Named Desire... Don't get me wrong, I think she's a wonderful actress, but let's give her a little more time to pad the resume...
I was just comparing the role of Julia to the role of Sophie. Much more to do as Sophie, yet the role doesn't have a standby.
And last time I checked, this really has nothing to do with Tina. I like her and all and I think she's talented, but can you stop plugging her for one minute?
I didn't particularly like Tina. She sang off-key most of the show.

Agreed, Shbrt.
Boy Iluv, you must *really* want this thread to die. Quit bumping it with your inane nonsense if it so disturbs you that it's here. Did you really need to concur with Shbrt on how Maddigan's singing was? Btw, that's a rhetorical question so try and control yourself from adding further.
Al, I'm trying really hard to figure out how what you just posted was any less pointless than what iLuv just posted.

Sorry...while I agree about not personally insulting a fellow poster, once information is posted on a message board in a public forum, the content becomes everyone's business, and everyone is free to discuss it.
I really don't understand why the Laura fans have to be so mean! The Tina fans are so nice!!

Please don't generalize.

wow, i would seriously like the moderators to delete this thread
it is incredibly stupid, and seriously...what is the big deal? Laura was sick, she is coming back, whether you like it or not, and if you dont like it, dont see the show, and if you do, come and support.
and about the whole people being annoyed with someone who is friends with Laura...who cares about that either?
why do i even care enough to try to convince you guys to let it rest when i know you'll just keep be all rude to each other...?
Personally, I don't like to get a bunch of PM's from Laura fans just because I've posted nice things about Tina. Tina is an amazing standby. They're very lucky to have someone of such caliber that's getting raves. You're forgetting, Julia is a lead role and Tina's done an extremely commendable job holding down the fort in Laura's absence. That's what a standby's job is. They're supposed to assume the role in a heartbeat! The problem here is that Tina has captured the hearts of many in her portrayal of the role. That's not always so easy for an actor to do. So, hats off to Tina. Mission accomplished!

people send PM's to you because you love Tina? that is retarded...
some people on this board really need to learn some manners- just because you dont like someone doesnt mean that you have to go after other people who do
sorry, Phantom
i love Tina, and Laura :)
No one ever said Tina didn't do a fine job in Laura's absence.
At least I didn't.
You know, some of you, not all of you, but some of you, talk about, analyze, and obsess more about theatre than the people that actually work in it. It's kind of sad.
