Just stumbled upon Becky's blog and she announced that she will be Elle this month in Legally Blonde at the Ogunquit Playhouse in Ogunquit ME.
I've had tickets since the day they went on sale and now seeing Becky again is the icing on the cake!
Can't wait!!

I saw her as Elle in the tour and she was sensationally good.
I saw her and thought she sucked.

I thought she was decent; but it doesn't make up for Sally Struthers being cast as Paulette lmao
Still LOLing at the Sally Struthers thing. Bend & Snap (Your Plastic Hip).
The above two posters are a holes.
Yeah, they're assholes because they actually would like to see someone who can sing Paulette's songs instead of someone who can barely keep a tune.

Nothing against Sally, who I thought was excellent in Chicago there last year, but I think that Ogunquit shouldn't have cast her as Paulette (they did because all of their patrons love her, and they had to put her in something this year I guess)...
gulsvig is terrific. her elle is very real (maybe at times a bit too real for the show) and above all, terrifically sung.
wonder why she didn't do it at the MUNY?
Did she get offered the role at the MUNY and turn it down?
I saw Gulsvig on Broadway and thought she was awful. Incredibly boring portrayal lacking any sort of zip.
Struthers is certainly an "unconventional" choice for Paulette.
It's not even the singing that makes Struthers such an odd choice for this role. A character voice could easily meet the demands of the score, and, in terms of type, she's actually pretty well cast as a frumpy but charismatic wallflower who comes into her confidence (very much in the vein of Jennifer Coolidge in the film.)
But are we forgetting that Paulette has a baby at the end of the show?! Struthers is almost 65!
OMG!
And Marissa is playing a 16 year old at the Hollywood Bowl!
Shut it.
So the UPS guy will be a Hot 55 year old?
It'll actually be Rob Reiner

I really wish someone could decide what Paulette exactly is supposed to be in this show. First you have Orfeh, a quirky, over the top beltress, then you have Natalie Joy Johnson on the tour, who was much more in the vein of Jennifer Coolidge, both physically and in her character choices. Over in the West End you have Natalie Casey, who looks to be all of 25 and makes some of the most bizarre acting choices I've ever seen. And now regionally you have everyone from Lisa Howard to Sally Struthers. It's just the most strangely cast role, none of those people should be playing in the same "type" in my mind, maybe Johnson and Howard but that's about it.
It's just frustrating, I guess, to see so many people trash certain portrayals when it's fairly clear to me that even the creators of the show had absolutely no idea what they were going for and have been casting any and everyone to try to bring something to an underwritten role.
Sorry, that was kinda OT. I liked Becky as Elle. A very well sung performance. Though I found her to be rather charmless, nowhere near as engaging as Sheridan Smith, Carley Stenson, heck, even LBB.
