Leslie Kritzer played Delia Deetz (the O'Hara role) in last year's reading and Jessica Phillips played the role in this workshop. I assume Kritzer's commitment to The Honeymooners prevented her from doing it this time.

Has anyone here seen any of the workshops or readings? If you have, how's the material?

Pudi is a wonderfully left-field casting choice and I'd love to see and hear that he fits the material like a glove. Interestingly enough, his characterization of Abed Nadir (particularly the character's uncanny ability to imitate and impersonate his friends and celebrities) matches the original screenplay's concept of Beetlejuice not as a Sam Kinison/corpse hybrid, but as an ambiguously-Arabian djinn and master of disguise.

^ I don't think he's playing Beetlejuice, is he? I thought Alex Brightman's playing the lead with Pudi playing the character Alec Baldwin had in the movie.

Yeah. Pudi is playing Mr. Maitland; but when I saw his name attached to the show, before I knew what role, I wondered if they were returning to the original conception (like James Monroe Iglehart plays a pre-Robin Williams conception of the Genie in "Aladdin."Beetlejuice Developmental lab
