As a fan of ANNIE since I first saw the original production weeks after it first opened at the Alvin Theatre (now the Neil Simon Theatre) back in May 1977 (I was 12 years old), I am more than thrilled and excited to see a completely new interpretation.
The original staging was of its time (the mid-70s) and fantastic (sets coming on stage via a treadmill and pieces flying up and down to 'build' the set, etc.), those 'new' set designs are fabulous, including those 2nd levels, that 'new' curved staircase, etc. Looking forward to actual choreography put into the show -- Peter Gennaro's original choreography was quite limited (to me, at least -- even at 12 years old).

Wow. First time in a while that I don't roll my eyes heavily towards the back of my head when checking out plans for an upcoming revival.
This Annie is in good hands!
