I have tried to keep my mouth shut these past few days (y’all know how hard that is for me to do..on all fronts..) But after reading the absolutely asinine post about signatures and their appropriate length, I feel I can no longer keep my mouth, or any other orifice of my choosing, closed.
That said, I would like to say the following:
I have been called probably every name in the book on this board. I have had my posts applauded and ridiculed. I have had the way I look (pro or con) used against me. I have been made mock of and championed by numerous posters. I, myself, have made mock of and championed numerous posters. I have been told to take off my shirt and to leave it on.
..and I thoroughly enjoyed EVERY SINGLE MOMENT that has happened here.
What I do not enjoy is being told by posters, not the webmaster but posters, what I can or cannot do or what I can or cannot say and how big or small my signature should be.
We have become a message board that is not for the weak. We are a message board fully capable of eating its young and nurturing those who have earned their stripes.
We are a board with a reputation to uphold.
I am not about to see what we have created turned into a kindergarten by a group of milk toast dullards.
Let me go on the record as saying… I have absolutely no plans to change how I write or what I write about or the manner in which I write and I urgently ask my fellow posters to do the same.
Even Rob himself has talked about the Community we have created here. We may fight, mock and scold one another but I don't think anyone is ever really offended by each other and I can not tell you how many times "sworn enemies" on this board have ended up on friendly terms.
This board is being discussed in numerous circles and I assure you what is being discussed is NOT how “kind” we are or how completely “on-topic “ we are or anything of that sort.
We have a reputation to up hold. I suggest the Goody-two-shoes find another board where their considerate postings and signature length will be taken with any kind of seriousness.
Kindly yours and God Bless,
La Voce Antonio..

Where the hell have you been?
Thank you for a very well written post. I totally agree with you.
And this board would not be the same without people such as your hot little self!
Keep it coming.

Well I really liked the updated tv version known as POLLY, starring Keshia Knight-Pulliam.
Oh...wait.
We're not talking about the movie?
Sh*t.

Posted: 9/29/03 at 2:51pmWow, Anthony, Broadwayguy2 gave you the clap! Course, ya know if *I* had written your post somebody else would've attacked me for it and Broadwayguy would have said "bravo." But I'm not bitter.

Posted: 9/29/03 at 2:55pmSadly, Namo, I think you are right. There are a few posters here who just seem to get dumped on no matter what they write. Maybe if you just changed your name to something like "Salivatin'4Sutton" or "BernieBoy" you would get the respect you deserve.

MARK MY WORDS
I will bet you there are complaints going out to Rob D as we speak about the baleful way we are treating Miss. Foster.

Would they know what VD is?
Where are our tax-payer's money going if they Can't teach students about perky Broadway stars catching VD...

Posted: 9/29/03 at 3:25pmTrust me, sweetie, you haven't been called EVERY name in the book. At least not on this board. Yet! But even you have to admit it's annoying to read that someone's signature is five times longer than their post. "...Brevity is the soul of wit", so said Polonius.

Al,
Namo wrote THREE SENTENCES..(LOL)Yes, they were lovley, as sentences go, but I wrote a freakin' novel by comparison..ok...(LOL)
I don't think if namo wrote my post he would have been attacked..I, for one, would have praised him ...sky-high...
....and I do think his posts have taken on a more mellow tone that gets the point across without making people get defensive thus I think this would have gone over well...
I was actually waiting for somone to sorta say nertz to this goody-goody crap ..I'll write what I want....
As I said, there will be a boatload of complaints sent to Rob about this thread...that I will take the hit for but I'm Siciliani..
someone is always trying to kill us (LOL)..
