Michael Cerveris AND Laura Benanti...if only this were a musical.
"There's nothing good on. The media hates Christmas. The media loves vampires, though. Maybe they will show a Twilight Christmas." -Danmeg's 10 year old son.
One of my favorite up-and-coming writers, my favorite Broadway house, and two of my favorite actors? YES PLEASE! Screw Jackman and Craig, I'll be at the Lyceum.
I had a feeling that Benanti would could also play Catherine; either role would've worked for her. Maria Dizzia's performance was fantastic at Berkeley Rep and I'm happy to see her continue with the production in New York. I wonder if Cerveris is playing the Doctor..if that is so...New York audiences will get to see him bare it all...
broadwaybelter, Cerveris is indeed playing Dr. Givings.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
"Y'know, I think Bertolt Brecht was rolling in his grave."
-Nellie McKay on the 2006 Broadway production of The Threepenny Opera, in which she played Polly Peachum
