I love Bernadette and love R&H so I thought this was a safe purchase. Just listened to it and it is one of the mostly poorly sung cds I've ever heard. Very surprised.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this album?

I LOVE show tunes, and would rather buy a CD with show tunes, than original music or standards.
I'm willing to forgive any strain in her upper register.
I'm sure most of the faults in the CD are due to the fact that she probably knew every song WORD FOR WORD, BEFORE she even made the CD...so it might have been a show up and sing type of thing.

If someone said that these were demo recordings, I'd believe it. I'm just shocked that these performances are considered FINAL and were released to the public. They are THAT BAD.

After reading this Bernadette Peters exchange I hopped over to iTunes where they now let you listen to 90 seconds of a track. To my surprise (no offense), I would have to agree with all of you. Sounds like she went into the recording studio after a five martini lunch.
But she's still in Apple's high rent district: a buck twenty nine per track.
