Does anyone know when the DVD of Bernadette Peters in concert at Adelaide, will be released ??
I'd like to know too. I caught this on pay TV, wish I could have recorded it. It was pretty cool.
I didn't get a chance to see it. Do you remember which songs she performed ?
Yes, I wrote a list actually
Let me entertain you
No one is alone
There is nothing like a dame
Fever
Mister Snow
Some Enchanted evening
(didn't know this song)
Wish upon a star
Johanna
Not a day goes by
You could drive a person crazy
With so little to be sure of
Children will listen
Move on
Being Alive
Rose's Turn
I honestly love you (Broadway barks lullaby.
Qolbinau,
This is not meant to be rude and please don't take it the wrong way, but you really did not know "Some Enchanted Evening "?
Of course I do :P - I mean I didn't know the song that goes in that 'placeholder'. I.e. she sung a song between some enchanted evening and wish upon a star..that I didn't know.
She had some random harmonica player or something IIRC that played with her for the song in question, too.
It would be strange if out of all the songs she sang Some enchanted evening would be the one I didn't recognise, haha.
It could have been Shenendoah.

It was Shenedoah with a harmonica player - I was there, row G centre :)
I've checked with the director, Richard Jay-Alexander (who is also directing BroadwayWorld.com's Standing Ovations V on November 1) and he notes that "negotiations for airdate in the U.S. and DVD release are just now beginning."
I hope she sang "Adelaide's Lament."
I must admit that when I first saw this thread title, I read it as 'Bernadette Peters AS Adelaide'.
Qolbinau.
Whoops my bad. :))
"I hope she sang "Adelaide's Lament.""
I see what you did thar.
It's a trick post PalJoey. I read it as "Bernadette Peters as Adelaide" too...lol. Seriously, I'm looking forward to this concert too. I have a DVD of her night club act from the seventies which I mail ordered from Brazil of all places and the "Bernadette in London" DVD concert from a while back. It would be great to have something new. Thanks for the post Alxscrz2.
I had no idea this existed. How did I miss this?
I also read this as Bernadette as Adelaide and thought there was a video of it somewhere. I almost plotzed as she once would have been ideal for the role.
I agree, Bobby! She would have been wonderful as Miss Adelaide!
I don't really care for the song list, I mean, the second half is basically the same as her London concert. I love Bernie, I'm definitely buying the DVD, but the song list needs to change.
Glad I'm not the only one who thought, "OOOO, she would have been perfect."
Having Bernie in the last revival would may have saved it...
I can't wait for this DVD, the song list sounds awesome. I wish she would've added some songs from Annie Get Your Gun and Mack & Mabel, like Look what happened to Mabel or Wherever he aint.

I also thought it was a "Bernie As Adelaide" thread. She would have been awesome as Adelaide 30 years ago!
