Just got back.
She is absolutely amazing, as we all know.
Will post a song list...
[Nevermind about FEVER]
Updated On: 10/22/05 at 09:55 PM
Hate to burst your bubble but she's been singing Fever since last spring. Her line about it being her first time, so please be gentle is her normal way of setting up the song and her way of being funny and setting up the sexual tension of the song. I agree she does an amazing rendition of it. Glad you enjoyed the concert.

BSoBW2: I just got back from the concert, too! I was talking with a friend afterwards and we agreed that whatever "It" is, she has it--and she spread it around during the concert! Zoellner audiences are notorious for being slow to warm up (if they do at all), but after about three numbers, Bernadette had them eating out of her hand. "Fever" fabulous, "Some Enchanted Evening" marvelous, "Rose's Turn" a knockout. And she's back making banter with the audience between songs. She's a trouper, a class act, and everything people have been saying about her on this board. Oh, by the way BSoBW2, I think what she meant was this is the first time she's done "Fever" during a concert tour, I think she's done it before the Zoellner date.

Well actually she's been singing Fever in this entire concert tour which began last spring.

Oh, well.
She still does an amazing rendition of it!
I was there too!!!! So many lehigh valley people!
I bawled my eyes out when she came on stage. She looked stunning. Unexepected Song always makes me teary.
I was there in my pretty black dress. I couldn't stop smiling the whole time.

Well...I sucked up the $100 ticket price and went to the show.....and you're right...it was great! I love her singing Sondheim! I still don't know how she got through "No One Is Alone" and "Not a Day Goes By" and "Time Heals" without breaking into tears! (I know I did!) Wonderful concert!
Haha, I was in the second to last row in the whole theatre but the view was amazing. I was wearing a fifties vintage dress with a hairclip if that narrows it down for you. I'm 1 in a 1000.
I loved "Mister Snow".

Is she really back doing her funny remarks before each song? Reviews of her previous concerts say she is astonishing as usual but that she didn't do her common comments.
Unexpected Song is one of my all time favorites.
She was commenting a bit. This is the first time I've seen her in concert so I have nothing to compare her to, but she commented after most of the songs she sang.

Before she sang Unexpected Song, I think, she made a joke about all the previous songs she had sang in the concert she never sang in the actual show.
I went to her concert last week. The first one after her husband's death and she did definitely make comments between songs. She can't just finish one song and then start singing another. She has to set them up some how and at least be somewhat entertaining. I think what you probably heard about that concert was that she didn't talk as much as usual in between songs and just tappered some of her commentary. And she was also kind of disconnected from the audience during the more emotional songs. All in all, it was still a great concert and very professionally done. It just wasn't quite a usual Bernadette concert that has lots of jokes, Bernadette having a wonderful time and really sharing the experience with her audience. But that was her first concert back. Hopefully tonight she was able to get a little more of her sparkle back and will continue to get back to her life.

Lehigh! WHoosh. Blah, didn't go, but love the school Heh.
Yeah, she did that in her Carnegie Hall concert and it's also in her filmed performance in London. I think it's so funny the way she says it "This song is from a show that I was actually in and I sang this actual song in the show." I love this woman, wish I could see her concert. Her "Rose's Turn" is so powerful, I wish they released an album or another DVD of this tour or she should come to FL!

The funniest part is when her dress messed up the mic, created an odd sound.
She had a great expression.
(Well, funny, because she was looking so damn sexy during "Fever," then she sits up and...OOPS!)

I'm curious, did she mention her late husband at all?
Yeah, Moljul, that's what I meant. What I read on this board is exactly that, that it wasn't a usual Bernadette Peters concert. Still everyone said it was magnificent which doesn't surprise me because she's just that great of a performer.
I adored her singing Fever. And I adored her dress. She is quite possible the cutest woman alive. I loved her segway into Fever. She's close to sixty and still has it!
Yes she did. At the beginning of the concert. That was the only time I believe.

I know, it is hard to believe she wasn't "13, 19 years ago"
After her first song she said "you know there's been a great tragedy..." and that she came for two reason...one being she already said she would and didn't want to disappoint...the other was that she made a commitment to her husband...to which she received a thunderous applause.
I am suprised that she came, in a way. I went with my voice teacher to see her and we bought the tickets the day before it happened. She called me at eight in the morning telling me the news and I was completely floored. I have a tremendous amount of admiration for her. She is so strong to be able to perform after all she has been through in the past few weeks.

So her dress was what made that noise during Fever? I thought it was some sort of weird feedback. Wow...who knew that sound could be caused by sequins!
I did wonder who was over on stage right though, since quite often she kept turning her head that way, as if singing to someone off stage.
