What did you think of her version of "I'm Flying"? Personally, I wasn't thrilled, just wondered what others thought.
I agree...Mr. Snow was great, but my personal favorite was "Not a Day Goes By"

Stage Right is where the Stage Manager sits.
But I didn't notice her looking off that way really.
Her version of "Not A Day Goes By" is flawless, I don't know about this concert but on her recordings and the DVD, she brings so much power to this song, I kind of don't like the song in the Merrily We Roll Along OBC, but she just adds a lot to it. How was her Rose's Turn?

Rose's Turn was absolutely amazing, of course!
She even wore the jacket and shoes.
>>>How was her Rose's Turn?
Trust me, you don't want my answer to that question....
>>>She even wore the jacket and shoes.
Ok..so I understood why she put on the jacket, but why did she change her shoes? I was thinking maybe it had something to do with choreography, but she didnt' do anything different that she couldn't have done in the white heels. Maybe it was sort of symbolic "stepping into the shoes of Mama Rose"?

I think so...that is was symbolic.
What do you think of Rose's Turn?
re: I'm Flying - I didn't thrill it much either. But she put her heart into it and I thought it took on a whole new meaning.
Well, I saw her Rose's Turn in 2003 and she was amazing, I was just wondering how she did it in concert, it's great she gets in costume though!
I'm not a big fan of her in that role. I don't really like the way she performs Rose's Turn. I'm not sure exactly what it is. I just dont' think she's quite "brassy " enough for the role. Granted, I never saw her do the role on Broadway, so that could have changed my mind, but just hearing and seeing her sing Rose's Turn does nothing for me.

I never saw her as Gypsy (I had the chance...oh well).
But I thought she did a great job tonight...
Oh well.

Bernadette sang There is Nothin' Like a Dame from S Pacific...she was amazing.
Afterward she said, "They don't do it like that in the show. But that's how I do it."
Um so yea she is an amazing woman i saw it third row tonight....
Um totally random but i love how her Spankees/underwear matched her dress.....
I respect your opinion singingwendy but Gypsy was my first Broadway show back in 2003, and her performance just affected me so much. I think her Rose's Turn is just a complete breakdown, you understood that everything that ad been happening from the beginning of the show was only accumulating to finally explode in that song. I remember when she said "Well, someone tell me when is it my turn" the tears ran down my eyes-corny,I know, but true-and I didn't know a performer was able to give so much emotion. I have never seen her concert version so I don't know.
About "Nothing Like A Dame" I've read in articles that she adds irony to the song, and that she sings a completely different version that is nothing like it is actually performed in South Pacific.

Her version is very uppoty and hot.
And funny too.
I mean, in the real show it's a male's song.
Um Her Verison of Dame is like a sexy Strip number and it is AMAZING
Yeah, isn't it performed by all the sailors or something? I don't really like the original version.

It's hard to listen to original versions of songs after hearing Beradette sing them.
That's so true. Have you heard the original version of "Not A Day Goes By"? After listening to Bernadette's,the original should just not exist,ok I'm exaggerating but still.

Sadly, for me, I can't listen to more than one person sing "No One Is Alone" since I heard Bernadette sing it solo on a CD.

I. Love. Her.
I HATED missing this.
I thought the concert was fantastic. I thought she sounded better than any other times I've heard her. She made a mention of Michael's death right after Let Me Entertain You. It was very brief but said she was continuing with her concert schedule 1) out of respect for the ticket buyers and 2) because Michael would have wanted her to continue on. I was very close to the stage and while I didn't notice her voice cracking, her eyes welled up quite a few times.
She was not at all disconnected from the audience this time. While at times it looked like she might be singing directly to/for Michael, she still ver much maintained eye contact with the audience. She even laughed a little bit when speaking of how long she's known Marvin and when we all laughed at the title of Marvin's new show "Jewsical the Musical." After the laugh, she said something along the lines of "I'm really going to have to see this one!"
It was a fantastic performance and I've never seen her sing with more emotion and feeling. She is an amazing performer. I am hoping that these concerts might be at least a little therapeutic for her.
I don't think I cried that much in my life. She is my role model, and to see her perform was the most amazing thing in the world for me. I thought I was going to die, as soon as I heard her being announced my face exploded in tears. I don't know why I even wore eye make up. I was hoping she would sing "There Won't Be Trumpets", but I was happy none the less. It was an amazing experience.
See...I was hoping for "I Remember Sky" from Evening Primrose. I was thrilled she sang "No One is Alone" though, as it's one of my favorite songs ever. Has she ever sung "I'm Not Getting Married Today"? I bet she'd do a great job.

I didn't see her, but I'm just in awe of that woman. She is the epitome of the saying, "The Show Must Go On."
