Best Broadway Walking Tour#1

Posted: 3/4/13 at 8:17am

Hi,

My husband and I are coming to NY end of April from a Sat to Tues. I am a huge fan of the theatre...especially musicals...and have been looking at various Broadway tours. Have seen a few that seem really cool talking about what it's like to an actor/acress, behind the scenes, true stories or scoop, etc.

Has anyone ever been to any of the below three and recommend one?
1) Inside Broadway Tours (only one time we could catch this tour)
2) Walkin Broadway Tour
3) Broadway Up Close Walking Tour (didn't see any times listed)

Aside from contect, some considerations are: time of tour, can we hear (e.g. Sat at 4pm on Broadway is quite busy/loud)

Any advice or feedback?
Much appreciated.

Thanks GingerBreadMan (nice alias Best Broadway Tour ). Do you know when/how often the tour runs? I wasn't sure if this tour would be difficult to arrange as we don't live in NY and the times aren't set / listed.

I'm fairly certain that they schedule it for YOU. It doesn't have a standard schedule.

Here's a thread about it.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Thanks dramamama. Didnt see the other thread.

Anyone tried Walkin Broadway and have any comments? I seems to run often (2x daily in the morning) and would probably fit our schecule best if coming for just a few days.

I heard Walkin Broadway isn't bad but I would still recommend Broadway Up Close.

Thanks GingerBread. Let me look into Broadway Up Close and find out how it works...when they run. I'd rather book when we're there (or ver close to the date) as it would be best to do this kind of tour in good weather.

MM -- Bway up close books their tours strictly FOR you. There is no set schedule. YOu can contact them through their website and ask as many questions as you want. YOu'll likely hear back within 24 hours.

I can't speak to Broadway Walking Tours, but my wife and I LOVED the Food On Foot tour we did through the East Village. It was really cool to see a taste of the neighborhood where RENT is set...
