What is the best theater on Broadway and why? For me it`s the Marquis theater because from every seat, it is a great view. Great accoustics. Kind crew and comfortable seats. And on top of it all, THE ELEVATORS!!!!!!!!!

I'll participate! I like the Gershwin theatre because it's differnt. Most theatres, you enter the front doors and about 5 feet later, the seats are right there. With the Gershwin Theatre, you go up the esculators so it's a differnt feel.

I like the New Amsterdam because it's so beautiful. However, I've liked the seating in the Hirschfeld.

For theaters that currently house musicals, I say the Beaumont because it's the only Broadway theater that I know of that has a thrust stage.
I love the Golden because it's so tiny and a great atmosphere..The stage at the Marquis is really cool. I also like the Nederlander, the ceilings have drawings in the hallways representing cast members..it's so cool!
It's the Hirschfeld for me.
Apart from the excellent sight lines and great atmosphere, it is the only Broadway house where you can hunt 'hidden Ninas'. I think...
My fav. is the Lyceum. The interior designs are just gorgeous! But I love the chandeliers in the Imperial.
My all-time favourite theatre was The Henry Miller, may it rest in peace
Other top contenders include Circle in the Square and (duh, it's me) The Golden

I enjoyed the Gershwin myself, and the Minskoff theater
I haven't been to that many, but I quite liked The Palace.
ok, the first time I went into the Gershwin, I had had a few Martinis, but still, my eyes watered at the beauty, and the hisory.
For viewing and seating: Marquis
For the architecture: Al Hirschefeld
I like the Nederlander and the Vivian Beaumont. Both are very small and comfortable.
The Palace is my favorite.

Smaller Houses: (my favorite theatre) The BILTMORE & The AMERICAN AIRLINES - so quiant and both restored beautiflly!
Larger HousesL The MARQUIS & The HILTON!!!
It's funny to me that everyone likes the Gershwin 'cause I think it is SO big that the orchestra sound doesn't carry very well...
I like the Lyceum too, wickedfan, but you forgot to mention that it has a fabulous exterior as well. It's so ornate and over-the-top, especially compared to the buildings next to it. I love it. I haven't seen enough different theaters to say definitively. I always end up at the Beaumont, one way or another.
It's not a Broadway house, of course, but I'd like to mention the Met Opera House. It's a totally different experience, but one that makes most B'way houses look like tiny, underdecorated, and cramped boxes, particularly when you consider lobby space.
Yes, I'm feeling the Lincoln Center love tonight. However, I loathe Avery Fischer Hall.
I absolutely love the Majestic. However, in terms of BEST(Not favorite), I'd have to say...Marquis. Ive not seen anything there, but apparently, its very comfy and spacious, with ample stage space.
