If given a choice of seats in the orchestra, where is the best seating to see King and I?

(I saw War Horse in the Loge and would prefer to be closer)

That's a good question because there is a lot involved. The unique "thrust" stage at the Beaumont juts right out into the seats, and about at the same level. If you are in the first or second rows to either side of the orchestra pit then you are practically on the stage. Kelli and Ruthie Ann deliver songs from just a few feet away from you and you need no opera glasses to read the expressions on the cast's faces.

The down side of this is that you can get caught up gaping at the nearby actors, and miss the full force of the production. If you are only going to see it once, unless like me you get starstruck being so close to the actors, perhaps you are better off sitting in the middle to rear orchestra. There are only thirteen orchestra rows, so no one in the orchestra if far from the actors.

So that's the question of sitting near or far. The side orchestra seats, especially in the last five or so rows, are the most shunned seats. If you sit in the half of the row closest to the wall, you might miss anything happening in the rear corner of the stage on your side. But not much goes on there. Almost everything is staged in the thrust area. You are also farthest from the actors. If you want to play it on the safe side, don't sit in the last five orchestra side sections and just sit in the side sections if your seats are closer to the aisle than to the wall.

Can someone please tell me if I get linctix for this which are located around rowd D thru F in the 100's or 500's, if I'll be missing alot of the action on stage? or are those good seats? Would the front row of the loge be better for this? I have never been to this theater and the loge seems sooooo far away from the stage. Your thoughts and input are appreciated, thanks!

hey Alessio, go for the seats in 500s as Anna spends time on that side of the stage in the opening scene. In the 100s you will miss seeing Anna altogether in that scene.

There's another thread that talks about Linctix seating for The King & I: https://forum.broadwayworld.com/readmessage.php?thread=1090556#4768333

As I mention in that thread, the seats are great and really cannot complain.

Try to stay away from the front row on the sides. My friend sat there with LincTix and said the sound was pretty bad. I was on the 4th row on the side I believe and didn't have any complaints.

The only thing is that it's in the round, and you'll often have actors facing away from you when you're in the side sections. But on the plus side, in other scenes they will sing directly at you, so I thought that leveled out.

My seat was E107 through LincTix and I really liked it! There were so many moments where the actors sing directly to that section and I was really close to most of the actions (and the ship!)
