Okay, so heres the question. What are the best shows you have seen in combination at matinee then evening?
For me, this past August, I was able to catch the matinee of Avenue Q at 2:00 and then hit up Wicked that night at 8:00. Pretty good day... both fabulous shows. I loved every minute. What's yours?

I've never done this, but I want to. I always wanted it to be RENT and AIDA... but I suppose I can't really do that anymore.

dont do that to yourself Emcee!!!!
You can see RENT and Chitty....
I've only done this once, a little over two years ago. I saw Les Miserables for the matinee and La Boheme at night (with Peter Lockyer as Rodolfo!!!)
I've only had one shot at doing that, but it was a pretty darn good one from my POV..."Spamalot" matinee and "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" in the evening.
Definitely one of my better days!

jj, you're right!! Wonderful idea!
I can't fall in love with this show. I don't need another mediocre musical love.

I saw a Little Shop of Horrors matinee and then a Chicago evening performance in August last summer.

Certainly not the best combination, but definitely the weirdest I've done...
Doubt in the afternoon, Spamalot at night.
The one that made the most sense was probably Good Vibrations matinee and then All Shook Up at night.
And if I didn't hate RENT, I'd probably say the best combination I've done was RENT matinee and Q at night, but alas...
Last time i did it was all shock at 2 pm and hairspray at 8pm.
Les Miserables matinee, Kiss Me Kate in the evening. THE most awesome day ever. It was for my 12th birthday, I was in Broadway Heaven!!!

Ooooh I just remembered, I did Altar Boyz matinee and then Q evening one Sunday. That was a good time.
This past weekend, I saw a matinee of Spamalot and the evening performance of Spelling Bee. My stomach muscles ached the next day from laughing all day.
In between, had a phenomenal meal at Blue Chili.
i have two:
Caroline or Change/Assassins
Pacific Overtures/White Chocolate
good hairspray, all shook up ive also done chicago and then rent. i wanted to do lsoh then hairspray. i might do hairspray/ave q this summer

Brooklyn the Musical 7:00/8:00pm
Rent and AIDA is THE way to go. Too bad it's no longer possible

Last time I did that was in January, a Bug and 'Night, Mother combination. It was...draining.
Emcee, this past August I saw Caren as Mimi in the RENT matinee then saw Aida later that night with Deborah and Adam. That day will never be forgotten!

Ah, well. AIDA can't be replaced, but now I have that damned flyin' car!
I think I've only done it twice.
The Full Monty/AIDA
AIDA/Final Taboo
I'd say the 2nd one was the best.
*edit* Also did Phantom/Oklahoma. Not a good day.

Mom thought it was too humid to walk around much, so we did TKTS for matinee of Cathy Rigby in Peter Pan. Good dinner at Charley O's (back when it was in Shubert Alley).
Spent evening watching Judi Dench in "Amy's View" from 2nd row, then got to talk to her in her dressing room afterward. Still ranks as one of my all-time favorite days!
Oh, and Focusing, your icon is cracking me up!
Titanic 2:00 matinee/The Life 8:00 evening
Wicked 2:00 matinee/Vanessa Williams Christmas Concert at the Palace 8:00 evening
This is the story of my life - I try to squeeze in as much as possible all the time...I think some of the best combinations I've experienced are:
Avenue Q/Wonderful Town
Golda's Balcony/Pacific Overtures
....I also managed to do The Rivals/Baltimore Waltz/Whoopi all in one day, which was quite intense (Whoopi had a 10:00 show when it was running)
