The Marvin trilogy.

In Trousers
March of the Falsettos
Falsettoland.

Don't let In Trousers fool you. Some people may be turned off by it's weird, quirkyness.
The other two are easier to follow.

May I suggest Anyone Can Whistle? That show is WONDERFUL. Angela Lansbury belting.. MMM.

LaChiusa's Wild Party and his Marie Christine.
First one is GREAT music. Very well written.
Marie Christine is a vehicle for Audra McDonald.
Needless to say she's brilliant, and there are some absolutely gorgeous pieces of music in that show.

I second Finn's Elegies.

Elegies is gorgeous...Anytime is a stunning and Bittersweet piece.Other Favorites "Baby" "Debbie Does Dallas" "Jane Eyre" "Tick Tick ...Boom" "Starting Here, Starting Now"
