I am so happy 'Kings of War' is mentioned twice....I saw it a year ago overhere in Amsterdam and I am still impressed.

I was in New York in april this year, saw a few shows but due to my jet lag I wasn't really there, so to speak. I was all ok on my last night though, so Christian Borle as Shakespeare was THE performance for me on that trip

Someone who made a huge impression on me and deserves a shoutout was Amber Grey in NATASHA, PIERRE, AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812. Through all of "Charming," my jaw was dropped. A fantastic voice and strong presence.

^Agreed, she was one of the ones who made the biggest impressions on me when I first saw it off-Broadway. Between Comet and Hadestown, she has had a great year.

 

I'd like to add Patrick Page in Hadestown to the mix. I've loved Greg Brown on the concept album and wasn't sure how I would feel about someone else as Hades, but Page gave such a fantastic performance. His "His Kiss, the Riot" was for me one of the best theatrical moments of the year. I really can't wait for the full cast album to relive his performance.
