Where are the best late night places in mid town that have cabaret style singers in the late evening- say 1030pm on? Or for that matter, other places that feature great late night blues, jazz or other live music?
Also, same question for great mid town post show places for a late night meal or snack
thanks

I'd say check out the normal venues: Blue Note, 54 Below, Birdland. They're all in the area. I mean the Monster/Marie's Crisis are piano bars, but not really 'cabaret.'
Food wise: Most everything will be open.

I've actually done a cool Jazz club in the Village before a show. Smalls does some afternoon jam sessions on either Friday or Saturday afternoon, I think around 4-7. It's tiny, cool as can be, and so entertaining as musicians swap in and out of the band and decide what to play. I'm sure they have a good schedule late as well. And it's not far at all from mid town.
