Ohh okay that does make much more sense now - what an awesome character - must make for some crazy, fun, impromptu moments up on stage, which is really one of the best things about live theater in my opinion.
No, I agree, jmaclover. I want the revival back.
And yeah... lots of improv. Most of the ad-libs were carry-overs from Alan, but there was one scene where he pulled people up from the audience to dance with him, and could really have a lot of fun. I collected a list of Adam's best adlibs.... well, because I'm crazy like that.
That isn't crazy! That's fabulous! I'd love to see it!
Lol, Adam's best.
*nods vigorously*
aw, I miss him.
*walks to San Francisco*
No, seriously. He was hysterical. Kind of kinky, but hysterical.

one time i did cabaret we had these fake cigarettes that looked real, and when you took a drag the end would light up, and smoke would come out... but you didn't have to inhale at all and they had the look of real cigarettes... maybe this is what they used on broadway?
darcey - exactly what I was thinking of!
Can I say Adam's chest looked the best in Cabaret (of all the EMCEEs)?
I'd venture to guess those would be wise to use, but 54 actually smelled like real smoke at the beginning when all of the girls were out on stage.
And yes. Yes, you may. *points to avatar* He's just one big, beautiful distraction.
MMMMMMMMM.........a healthy distraction.
I'll say it, nothing wrong with being kinky, especially if it's Adam!
And this I found on Susan's website in regard to the cigarettes:
"I smoked real cigarettes – Capris – because they burn less hot than the herbals. The herbals killed my chords, but some actors prefer them."
So long as it's healthy. Gah. San Francisco IS NOT New York.
thanks cyp
It's a shamehe doesn't take off his shirt in Rent.....
But he did in School of Rock!
So, Emcee, I've always been curious - when did this love affair with Adam begin?
Just for kicks....
*opens hard-drive*
Adam: "So, who are you here with?"
man: "um, my wife."
Adam looks around, then says : " and does your wife know your hand is on my ass?"
The guy was so freaked out.
Adam: "Where are you from?"
Girl: "Here."
Adam: "From zhee nightclub!?!!??!?!"
Adam: "Where are you from?"
girl: "Virginia."
Adam: " Long way to come to Berlin. How old are you?"
Girl: "Sixteen."
Adam: "Oh, you’re 18?! Good."
Adam: "Oh, sorry I'm stepping on you with my big feet. You know what that means, right? Where are you from darling?"
Guy: "Brooklyn"
Adam: "Oh, ja, in da house."
.... just a few of my favorites, since I'm procrastinating.
I loved Susan Egan in the role. I got to see it right before it closed and it's still one of my favorites.
LOL, THOSE ARE SO GREAT!!!!!!
I bet he does have a.....(big feet haha))
I love the 18 one.
Hahah Emcee those are great, made me laugh out loud, I needed some of that! Thanks!
Ah. School of Rock. But that was before he lost all of that weight; poor man's like a pole now.
Anywho - I saw Aida in its first year, all of the originals but Heather. I fell for the show within minutes, but I really only remember seeing a guy play Radames who I thought was good. I met him after the show, only because the ushers saw that my brother and I were pretty young and thought it would be a nice experience for us to meet the actors. I've always been really, really shy, and if I could've I would've hidden behind my mother. Everyone was perfectly nice, but I was only about thirteen of fourteen, and was just really nervous. So, had Adam's signature not made its way into my program, I honestly could've seen anybody. People made RENT references around him, but I was like "Adam WHO? Rent WHAT?" I remember, though... it was his birthday, and people had a candle for him. I remember thinking they were nuts. Now I laugh at myself. Anyway, I bought the AIDA CD the next day, and very slowly fell for that voice. I saw RENT about two and a half years later, and bought the CD right after. The first time I listened to it, I was like "hey. I know YOU!" And so, at first it was almost just a connection between my two favorite shows. The rest is history, I suppose. I pulled out my old AIDA stuff after said epiphany and reallized how stunningly gorgeous he was... picked up a copy of Model Prisoner the same summer after missing him before he 'left' Aida. Then came Cabaret, Aida round two, and the year from fangirl heaven.
.... end rant.

Let's see if we can get this back on topic amidst the gushing over Adam's chest. Hmm, let's see. Well I'll list those I've seen in order of preference starting with my favorite:
Joely Fisher
Natasha
Susan
Mary McCormack
Jennifer Jason Leigh
Melina Kanakaredes
Molly Ringwald
Brooke Shields
Gina Gershon
Jane Leeves
I think that's all of them.
ah, Gina Gershon's voice made me want to gauge out my eyes.
And yes, jmaclover, on your last comment. *nods*
Those always make me laugh, too.
Joely Fisher huh?
HUH, I love your icon luvtheemcee
YEah, he did seem a little heavy at the end of school of rock.
I like him better with the waxed chest.
aw, thanks. I love it, too. It's my AIM icon, as well.... freaks people out.
For the sake of chronology, what you see in SoR is pretty much how he looked when I saw him in AIDA, first time around.
Ok, I hope I am not stupid for asking this, but I'll ask anyway...
I know the woman from Frasier (Daphne)played Sally at one point. What is her name? I feel so bad for not knowing this because its one of my favorite shows. And if anyone saw her, how was her performance?
googling....
Jane Leeves.
Ohh Emcee that is a very very sweet story!
I love obsessions!
