I am planning a trip to NYC in a few weeks and want to see In The Heights and Shrek. Where is the best place to sit for either of those shows? Where do you get your money's worth? Thanks for any help!
The best place to sit for SHREK is the Starbucks across the street...

I've sat in the rear mezz for both these shows and the seats were great. So if you're looking to save some money, the $40 seats are definitely worth it for both shows. I would recommend skipping Shrek, but if you really want to see it I'd suggest not spending too much on it - go for the student rush or rear mezz.
Almost any seat is a good one for IN THE HEIGHTS, save for the rear orchestra. The overhang cuts off part of the top of the set and the fireworks. Otherwise, it's all good!
^^I agree, the overhang is awful for In the Heights. If you are looking to save $$, I'd opt for the $41.50 rear mezz seats there.
And I enjoyed Shrek. But I did get my tickets through TDF for about $35. I'd get rear mezz, or try the lotto and/or student rush if it applies for you.

I sat in rmezz for both, and the views were good. I would get them if you don't ant to spend alot.
WAT's comment made me laugh out loud...but it's kinda true.
For SHREK, I'd say front mezzanine is best.
For IN THE HEIGHTS, try for row G or so in the Orchestra or the front mezzanine.
Rear mezz for Heights...from what I hear the seats are great, and only 41.50.
I agree with the rear mezz. Anywhere in the rear mezz, I've sat center, all the way to the left, all the way to the right, you can't to wrong. I would try to get row F, though. It's nice knowing the people in front of you paid $35 more than you did!

Front mezz for either show, but rear mezz is fine too. If you buy them for Shrek they're not too bad as long as you're not too far back, but I'm sure you'll be able to move down. I would not suggest sitting in the orchestra for In the Heights.

I was in the front rear mezz for Shrek (row D)and thought it was pretty far back... maybe the front mezz is clearer, but i dont wear glasses, have good eyes and was squinting a whole lot to see facial expressions. the idea that people pay $111 to sit up there is BEYOND me.
if you can, go with front mezz though like others have said, youre not missing much if you skip it entirely.
I've sat in the Rear Mezz for In The Heights and it was fine. Enjoy your trip!
For Shrek I sat front row of mezzanine almost right in the middle. The seats couldnt have been more perfect.
