Posted: 6/15/06 at 4:49pmBeth could do great in Rudnick's Jeffrey, playing all of the female roles. that would be a hoot. She too young for Norma Desmond, but could do a lot with the part and bring some much needed dark humor and a touch of camp to the melodramatic role.

It's funny because I saw Harriett Harris in the original production of Jeffrey.
Let's face it, there are so many roles that Beth could probably do, and do very well at that!

Posted: 6/15/06 at 5:16pmI'm curious if any one here saw her as Maggie Jones in the revival of "42nd Street" when she stood by for both Christine Ebersol and Mary Testa.

I'm wondering if any of you saw her as Anytime Annie the first time around in "42nd Street." Or if she ever went on while she was understudying Polly in "Crazy For You."
Apparently, this girl can TAP up a storm, too.

I saw her as Anytime Annie in 1987 and when the show closed in 1989. That was the first time I had seen her. Didn't see her as Polly in "Crazy for You".
There is just something unforgettable about her.
She was also wonderful in Show Boat.

I love Crazy For You.
I can sort of see her as Muriel in DRS but that role was underwritten for even Joanna. She was in two songs, so...yeah.
but basically everything else, I agree with. Definately, Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn from Music Man.

I have just about lost track of how many times I have seen Beth perform...over a dozen in Crazy For You; three times in Civil War?...At least 5 or 6 in 42nd as Brock...and about that many in Showboat, lest we forget.
Now that she's won a Tony, I think a one woman show at Don't Tell Mama's doing just an hour of her fave songs or something, would be awesome! I know it's been mentioned in the past. Perhaps anyone saying hi to her at the stage door could possibly drop a little bug in her ear and get the ball rolling...;oD.
