Saw this on Friday 10/11, bought a Front right mezzanine seat from TKTS for $61 after I lost the Little Shop Lottery. Really great seat IMO, as it was still a close enough view to see their faces, and was cheaper than the ~$100 orchestra ticket they offered. As for the play itself I really enjoyed the writing; the humor actually hit quite well and worked great as a counter to the depressing subject matter. It was my first Pinter play and I can see why his writing is so timeless. Other than the whole plotline of getting mail from the bank, the the show's humor aged great and the plot has stayed relevant. I really liked the staging and directing. Having the excluded actor remain on stage so you can see their emotions was really fascinating and was something I hadn't seen before. The lighting was gorgeous, you could practically watch the show in the shadows alone. Something about the all white stage also came off very well, some plays try a little hard for minimalism, but I really did feel that this staging fit the tone and quick transformations the story takes. It both let the audience's mind imagine, but kept it very grounded in the here and now. As for the performances I really liked Charlie Cox in his role; after only seeing him in Daredevil he showed some suprising range and was actually quite funny. Zawe Ashton really surprised me as this is my first time ever encountering her, she gave a really fantastic performance. Tom Hiddleston was really just the icing on the cake, he was funny and gravely serious when required, but nothing about his performance really stood out to me like the other two's. I did try and Stagedoor, but unfortunately none of them came out. I think Charlie had guests(?) so that may have contributed it to it. Overall very glad I saw this, and would totally recommend it to anyone on the fence. It also acted as a fantastic antithesis to Hadestown the next day.
Side note: At the stage door the security guard asked if "anyone else was wearing a 'Save Daredevil' shirt". I wasn't there right away, but does anyone know why they're bringing this up? Are people getting in trouble for this? Or even rewarded? The 'else' made it sound like something else had already happened to someone wearing one. Just a little odd lol.
