I also moved my October 2nd $25 PV Row A left mezzanine seat to $25 PV Row B left orchestra seat 5 and I’m now worried I made a bad move based on A View From My Seat webpage. If anyone could check out the view for me and report back, I’d greatly appreciate it.

I've got a partial view in the mezz on Flea Market day. I think the obstruction in the mezz could be the boxes. But I think I would have a better chance of moving more center in the mezz than orchestra. I think, even if this gets rave reviews, many may be at the market for this performance. At least, that is what I am hoping. That is why I picked this show for that time. The running time will allow me to look at booths, after a good majority of the people have made their purchases. Based on my only experience, I'm not going during the prime hours.

Miles, Does your new ticket state partial view? I just moved my mezz partial view ticket (really great customer service from Telecharge) to orchestra left, D7, thinking it was partial view and it does Not state partial view. So I'm happy to see a play from so close up.

My mezz seat stated partial view and this new Orchestra B5 seat is not marked PV. However, When I called Telecharge (and I agree Customer Servhce was great) yesterday, the representative stated that it must also be a PV seat because it was not showing up for her (in fact no $25 were) which meant it was PV as they can’t sell PV over the phone.
Therefore, the process was somewhat convoluted yet painless. She had to put me on hold and contact the theater to see if I buy this orchestra seat if they would refund me for my PV mezzanine ticket. She came back on the phone and said that they verified that they would do that. So she told me to go ahead and buy the orchestra seat (that understandably had to happen first) and then once it popped up on her screen that she could see that I had purchased it she put me back on hold and contacted the theater and they processed the refund. Was that similar to your process, ArtMan?

Pretty much so. Although, my representative never mentioned asking the theater, just his supervisor. When I first made my request, he stated he had to ask his supervisor and he put me on hold. Came back said it was okay and stayed on the phone with me while I made the new purchase. There was never a conversation about selling partial view seats. The row either behind me or after has seats for sell that is closer to the wall for $169. Now if I miss something here and there, I only paid $36. If I'm sitting in that $169 seat and have a worse view than me, then I would be mad.

ArtMan - agreed. Although if my previous PV mezzanine seat would’ve offered a better view, I’d prefer it. Hopefully, someone can report back after tonight!

Hmm, I shouldn't have bought my ticket so fast as there are so many cheap orch tickets now. Oh well, if it's good, I'll go again! And I'll report back on my mezz "PV" seat tomorrow.

Well. after attending 1st Preview in the $25 seat (Orch E9)...
Great acting.
Great direction.
Terrible seats.
I easily (easily!) missed 50% of the show
The $25 are obstructed view. And I’m going to tell the box office attendants—who, honestly, I don’t blame because they didn’t even know about the deal until the last minute yesterday (as per the gent I bought from)
But they need to be honest: If you get the $25 seats, do everything you can to get as far back (probably Orch Row F) and toward the aisle as you can.
Otherwise, you *absolutely* miss 50% of the show. And I am *not* exaggerating (I literally didn’t see 1 of the 3 actors until Scene 4).

That;s pretty disappointing, and also bizarre because it's supposed to be a pretty simple set. Is it just because of side action, or is the set really far back from the edge of the stage? Seems odd that such a simple play couldn't make everything front and center.
I have D8 for Saturday. I just checked and everything less than $79 is already sold, so there will probably be a lot of disappointed people. I know it's easy to say that for such a low price point you can't really complain, but to be fair the orchestra seats were NOT marked partial view (I assumed they were, anyway, but people who don't go to the theatre very often might have just thought it was a good deal or a special discount or something and may have no idea that they aren't about to see the whole thing). I wouldn't be surprised if they had people asking for refunds (not saying either way if they should honor those requests; I just think they should prepare for the question to be asked).

I’m still curious about the mezzanine PV seats. Orch makes sense to me, as I remember getting a cheap ticket in row L, all the way to the right, for the Ferryman, and even that was obstructed a bit (although to be fair that set was a bit more complex).

I do go to the theatre a lot. My original mezz seat was marked partial view, before I bought it. So I knew ahead of time. My new seat is not marked partial view. I don't mind a moment here and there, but 50% is excessive. I'm hoping a lot more people who sit in those seats give their opinion before I see it mid September. If it is that much obstructed view, I don't plan on sitting in that seat. Not marking it partial view is the theater's problem. It doesn't matter how much I paid.

I have seats Right Orchestra D8 and D10 for a performance in September so I was just curious which one of the actors you couldn't see until Scene 4 and if you think that my experience being on the other side of the house might be different? Thanks!

I'm just really curious. Hoping others who have bought these orchestra tickets give their opinion. There are seats further back and closer to the wall that are marked $169. Their view, according to the map, has to be worse.

When it comes to side orch, further back is better because the angle is less extreme, so you can see more of the stage. Is their view $144 better? Who knows? But I myself wouldn't over $100 for a 90 minute play no matter what, so for me 50% at $36 will beat out 85% at $169. But I think theatres should be more upfront about what you are buying. It is definitely a problem that they are not marking these seats as partial view. I'm only partially joking when I say: can't they just have someone whose job it is to sit in every seat as a person walks around the stage, and figure out if the view is obstructed?

Oh boy. Thanks for the heads up. As I mentioned earlier, I called Telecharge yesterday and moved from $25 PV Mezzanine A26 to $25 Orchestra B5. I’ll call tomorrow and see if they’ll let me switch back. I can’t really blame them if they tell me we’re not playing musical chairs here and say no but it’s worth calling. Plus I’ve had really good luck with customer service at Telecharge. I looked and A26 (Right Mezz) is still available, but so is A25 (Left Mezz). Any guidance as to if one would be less obstructed than the other with this particular production would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure once more people see the show, there will be more discussion of the performances. As of right now, there is nothing to "get back to" because that discussion hasn't started yet. Only one person has posted that they attended, and that person could see enough from their seat to say anymore than "great acting." Hopefully more people attend soon and the discussion can shift.

It sounds like there are a lot of partial view seats, whether marked that way or not, and frankly, that's just as much on the director as the theatre. The #1 rule of Directing 101 is you have to adapt to the space you're working in, and if there are that many partial view seats, clearly something needs adjusted in the staging. And I don't care that this is a transfer and was created for a different theatre space--of course the space was different in London, which is why you have to adapt. Oklahoma would not be staged the same way in a proscenium house as it was at St. Ann's.

Angoradebs, please let us know how D 8 is. I "upgraded" my partial view mezzanine seat, as well, but I'm going to wait and see before I get too out of sorts about it. I'm sure that Telecharge and the box office are going to get a lot of complaints, so I'm curious to see what happens.

That crowd is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Marvel fans. While some of you have D8 if anyone has D7 can you report back.? I'm not calling Telecharge and get my ticket exchanged. I will wait until day of the show if I need to do anything. I don't see this doing 100% capacity so there should be available seats for the HM to move to, even if it's further back.
