That host sounded like a 90 year old Yiddish woman. I was actually waiting to hear a reprise of Matchmaker.

It’s the fact that he did so AFTER announcing the closing performance. Sure maybe there was no intent and maybe he was just trying to combat scalpers... but it sure feltlike a calculated moveto sell the 2pm tickets (at very high prices) first this burning a lot of genuine fans."
Technically, they never really said the matinee was her last performance. They said she would be Dolly through January 14, which was true. We just assumed the matinee was the last performance. I bought tickets to the matinee 18 months ago, thinking that was the case. But when they announced the benefit show, I bought a ticket to that, flipped the matinee one, and called it a day.
And the prices for the last show were the same prices for every other show. The prices only were higher on Stubhub and such. People may have paid more than they preferred thinking it was her last show, but for prices that were the same as if they had gone a week earlier.

And yet he is still preferable to the unctuous personna that does the interviews/videos for this site.

You don’t like R R?
My 'humourous' response to your reference re R R was removed---the post police are certainly vigilant.
Yet the 'unctuous personna' remains ?
I was secretly hoping that Barry Manilow would make a surprise appearance at one of Bette's shows. But alas, apparently not.

I guess his interview "style" is a acquired taste.
BTW apparently Kathie Lee Gifford went on and on about Bettes last night on the Today show. If anyone has a link I would love to see it. Also interested in what celebs were in the audience... because that is always fun. I know about Bruce Springsteen, Lily Tomlin, and Brian Stokes.
Apparently there is going to be a Dolly tour in 2019. Any rumors on who will play Dolly?

I got to chat with Lucas Hedges at intermission.

There’s a thread on this. Someone said it’s christine Ebersole.
Howard Stern went with his wife over the weekend . He didn’t say if he went to the last one. He loved it .

Really? And where did this "someone" get their information? Ms. Ebersole is not the kind of star this show needs for the tour.

New here, don't know how to post without replying to a post, sorry to hijack thread. I was there for the final matinee, when Bette performed I put My Hand In, I noticed there was another verse not on the soundtrack, does anyone know why the shortened the song on the CD?

I'd wait on seeing Bernadette, till she finds her footing, I was very disappointed after seeing Donna first, then Bette twice

First off, it's called a "cast album", not a soundtrack.
I don't know which cast album you are referring to because there are several available. They all have cuts in them to fit the score onto the disc. The 1964 version has the most cuts because it was made to fit on vinyl--which had much less room on it than CD.
if you're talking about the Midler version, there's no rhyme or reason for what was done there. Suffice to say they just did a bad job recording the score.

How long will it take her to find her footing? This is a role that many ladies have performed with just a few days rehearsals in stock.

Others here are much more qualified to answer, but from what I've heard, once the play is out of previews, once it is called officially opened, I don't know the date certain
