I found a discount code for $60 seats to Rent, but I was just curious what they've been going for at TKTS?

That depends on how much the top ticket price is. It's half of that. But with TKTS you don't pick your seats, so you never know how good the seat will be.

I used TKTS to see Rent once and got row DD of the mezz. Not bad. (There are no bad seats in the Nederlander.) My tickets were about $48 each. It's up to you really. If you'd rather pick your seats (and be certain you'll get seats) use the discount.

Rush is the best way. $20 tickets, 1st and 2nd rows of the Orchestra. It's a lottery though, but it's never too crowded. Unless you're coming in from out of town and want to guarantee you have seats. I'd say use the discount code then.

When I saw it in 2000, my tickets were through the lottery and I'm cool with doing that, but we're coming in from Kentucky and my wife has threatened me with bodily harm if she doesn't get to see Rent. She loved the movie, so I can only imagine how much she'll love the actual show.

Plus, the way we've planned things out we have to go Monday night and I'm worried that with so few options on Monday night, it will be much harder to get tickets than normal. Am I overthinking?

you could always try lotto and then if you lose get tickets at the box office with a discount code or at TKTS rent doesnt sell out. unless your going on a saturday/friday.

Unless you plan to buy your tix at the box office w/ the code, ordering them online will charge you a hefty per order & per ticket fee. I'd say if you don't get the lotto, go to tkts.

It's risky because of sell-outs, but I think the box office can be a really good bet. I got a side view orchestra seat for 30 bucks there in January (5th row...not too shabby...SLIGHTLY obstructed for "You Okay, Honey?" but seriously for 30 bucks? amazing.)

As for the lottery...everyone I know has won. I've played eleven times and haven't won yet. How's that for unlucky?

If you're coming from Kentucky, then your best bet would be go with the discount. Although some people have had luck with lottery and TKTS, you're never 100% guaranteed tickets...plus at least with the discount you can choose where to sit and if you're not satisfied, you can reject the tickets or keep searching. Since you're coming from quite a distance, I don't think you want to arrive in NYC and then come to find out that you are unable to see the show you want. You're paying more, but it's probably worth it in the end.
