I stayed there 2 weeks ago. Great value if you are traveling alone. Clean, basic sleeping rooms (2 bunk beds per room) There are no lockers in the room but a cabinet holes your bags and I had no problems. The room was very warm.. Too warm. Even with the window open. There were 4 guys in my room and we all slept naked with just a sheet over us like you do in the summer – no need for the blanket.
Kitchen has 2 fridges and a stove. No Kettle, though. But I bought a cheap I LOVE NEW YORK mug and boiled water for my tea in the microwave. They have wireless Internet and two computers for $1 per 10 minutes for fast checking or messages.
I always find the others in these hostels friendly and easy to talk with. Someone was posting discount coupons for various Broadway shows on the bulletin board in the main hall. As long as you do not need hotel-like accommodations, it should do you just fine. And the price is great: $39 per night.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
