Alan Cumming (Cabaret) over Brian Mitchell (Ragtime)

If it were up to me, this would be the last several years in musical awards:

2001
Best Actor: Nathan Lane (Producers)
Best Actress: either Marla Schaffel (Jane Eyre) or Faith Prince (Bells are Ringing). Ebersole was great though.
Best Supporting Actor: Andre De Shields (Full Monty)
Best Supporting Actress: Kathleen Freeman (Full Monty)

2002
Best Actor: John Lithgow (Sweet Smell of Success)
Best Actress: Louise Pitre (Mamma Mia!)
Best Supporting Actor: Shuler Hensley (Oklahoma)
Best Supporting Actress: Spencer Kayden (Urinetown)

2003
Best Actor: Antonio Banderas (Nine)
Best Actress: Bernadette Peters (Gypsy)
Best Supporting Actor: Michael Cavanaugh (Movin' Out)
Best Supporting Actress: Mary Stuart Masterson (Nine)

I was crushed when Shuler Hensley won over Brian d'Arcy James for Featured Actor in a Musical. Sheer brilliance for "At The Fountain" alone.
I also think that this year, Jerry Mitchell was more deserving of the award for choreography than Kathleen Marshall.
