Surprised no one has mentioned this...or at least I haven't seen any mention of this. Interesting to note there aren't many details yet.

guessing this will be either a completely new production seeing as the Tour is scheduled to play at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center feb 2-2, 2011. Or it will be the Chicago company.

I have a feeling it will be the Chicago production. Which is stupid because the show hasn't even started in Chicago yet.

It's been discussed in the Toronto forum.

It was never "The Chicago Production." The press releases always said when it was first announced that BILLY would "launch its tour" in Chicago. Chicago is, for a year, hosting the launch of the first national tour. Whether it stays there (a la WICKED) remains to be seen. But it's likely that the show will transfer to Toronto as the second long run stop.
MAMMA MIA did this years ago. A second smaller tour (in BILLY's case, the equivilant to the tour opening in Tampa) will hit smaller markets while the first national plays long runs in big cities.

It's not stupid. Despite the fact that the producers even refer to it as the Chicago production, it has not been decided how long the show will stay.

And it's already been announced for four weeks in Minneapolis, Dec. 16, 2010 - Jan. 9, 2011.

That will be the second company, not the company scheduled for Chicago.

I'm just saying it was announced. I wasn't tying it to any particular production. Jeesh.
