I did a search which, surprisingly, yielded nothing. How early does one usually have to arrive on any given weeknight to obtain a rush ticket to Billy Elliott? I know that tickets go on sale two hours prior to curtain, but do people usually start to queue in advance of this?
They won't have student rush for a LONG time. If you have to get tickets day of, your best bet is the cancellation line but you'd have to pay full price. Or you could get the $40 rear mezz seats in advance.
Billy Elliott has rush, Tuesday-Thursday performances, two hours before curtain--unless they have suspended it post-Tonys.
Didn't someone mention that they wouldn't have Student Rush until sometime in September/after Summer?
I think the student tickets are essentially unsold house seats as opposed to a reserved row or section. If the show is sold out through September, that could be why they aren't offering them until then.
I do believe I read somewhere that they have suspended student rush until at the earliest, September.
Thats correct, last I asked at the box office, they do not expect student rush to return until "the fall", presumably post-summer rush. There's a small sign in the lobby that says "no student rush" thats been up pretty much since the Tonys.
You can get a last minute ticket thru the cancellation line, as long as you're willing to go 2-3 hours before, pay full price, and wait. Last few people I've talked to who have done it have had pretty great luck with it.
EDIT: Your search probably didn't return anything because you spelled "Elliot" wrong.
The student tickets aren't unsold house seats; they are mainly unsold partial view tickets, i.e. tickets in the $82 range. When I rushed in February, my friend and I got partial view seats in the front mezz (the partial view seats, btw, are not bad at all).
I wouldn't expect them to have rush again until at least mid-September.
