Well, he no longer has to worry about leaving Spring Awakening to film additional Lost episodes.
His character, along with Rousseau, was offed tonight by a mysterious gunman (gunmen?)

Posted: 3/21/08 at 12:00amI asked him a couple of weeks ago (at SA) if was going to shoot anymore episodes this season and he said he didn't think so, but possibly the season finale.

Posted: 3/21/08 at 1:00amI was kind of disappointed that the big death that they hounded away at in the promos ("Someone WILL die") was a secondary character (Rousseau) and a peripheral character (Karl). I was hoping they'd knock off a regular.

Posted: 3/21/08 at 1:44amI was very sad to see Rousseau shot, but it was nice to see her get to tell Alex she loved her first. I was more torn up last week with the whole Jin dead thing. That was heart wrenching!

Yeah, I bet we will see him again in some sort of flashback...
He was one of my favorite characters, but I also think he is great as Moritz in SA, so hopefully he will continue with that for a while.
It was too bad to see Rousseau go though, I didn't expect that all.

He's still leaving Spring Awakening on May 18th. They've already cast the next Moritz.

I totally disagree with what adamgreer said as well. What are you actually asking though? What did Michael survive?
And also, has this been confirmed that Blake's leaving for sure now? I'll definitely want to catch him again before the 18th then.

Posted: 3/23/08 at 12:15amThe reason they killed Karl off was because of Bashoff getting the role of Moritz in SPRING AWAKENING. They mentioned that he would definitely be back in some form or another, possibly for the season finale.
