Besides his association with the Four Seasons and Frankie Valli (and Jersey Boys), Bob Crewe was an extremely accomplished music maker. Starting with hit singles in the '50's by the Rays ("Silhouettes") and Billie and Lillie ("La Dee Dah" and "Lucky Ladybug"), and '60's with Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, Leslie Gore, Oliver and even one-hit wonder Norma Tanega ("Walking My Cat Named Dog"), and into the '70's writing and producing albums for the likes of Barbra Streisand, Bobby Darin (his last studio-produced album on Motown Records) and Frankie Valli, and even into the '80's with the Peabo Bryson/Roberta Flack release "You're Looking Like Love to Me." Although I am not as familiar with his talent in the visual arts, I understand he was also a gifted painter and artist.
To a life well lived! RIP Mr. Crewe.

Posted: 9/16/14 at 12:19pmThanks for posting the link to the YouTube clip of "An Angel Is Love" from the film "Barbarella. I've only caught parts of the movie, and I'm not familiar with the soundtrack, but I had heard Mr. Crewe was involved in producing the music for the film. I will be adding "Barbarella" to the list of films I want to see.
