I'm curious as well. I am going to see the show Friday night. So if nobody reports by then I will make sure I do!
I'm also curious to know if and how he does the stage door. As a fan of full house I'd love the opportunity to meet him.

I know someone who works on the show, and I'm SUPER tempted to text him and be like "tell me EVERYTHING" (and I have never had that reaction before)

I'm hoping to get to see him in this. I think this'll be a good part for him- sort of a happy medium between Danny Tanner and his stand-up :)

I agree with Panarofan. My first time seeing it this afternoon- and I have been wanting to for months but just never got around to it. Bob Saget was fine. The part was here nor there I thought. Seemed like a lot of Saturday Night Live sketches put together. I laughed a couple of times. I really felt so disappointed because I had heard about this play for so long.
The house was half empty downstairs. I do wonder how they keep running with such low grosses. Also I thought this was sort of an edgy play that came from downtown and then got prettty much raves from the critics and then sort of limped along on TDF and TKTS, etc. Where is the audience for this play? I can only think word-of-mouth hasn't been good? Like I said I was so disappointed when I left cause I had heard such great things.

My ears have heard great word of mouth. One theater savvy insider told me it's a better play than Curious Incident. Maybe other ears have heard other mouths.

Posted: 11/4/15 at 8:49pmYeah, I have heard great word-of-mouth as well (except from a good friend of mine!) So that's why I ask why the house was half empty today-I haven't seen an empty house like this on B'way in a long time. If word-of-mouth is good and reviews are great-where is everybody for this play? I don't mean to be flip-what else do you need to attract an audience?

I heard nothing but great things before and after I saw it. I personally love it. Great writing, great performances, good direction. It's sad that it is not selling better. Wonder if people will come see Saget? I hope so! I will be.

I thought he was very good tonight. He needs to work on his projection a bit though. He was VERY believable as this character. He's not smarmily seductive in the role like Kudisch. He's more shy and sympathetic with the underlying insincerity throughout, not as outwardly insincere as Kudisch. I felt Saget portrayed the desire to genuinely help Margery (and Jason) more than Kudisch who seemed like he just wanted to get in her pants. I enjoyed both though. All of the performances are still VERY strong.

I agree with much of what ljay889 says. I saw the show last night for the second time, and was really impressed at how all of the performances - particularly Geneva Carr's - seemed even better than when I saw them in April. They really seem to be enjoying what they do up there on that stage. I think I enjoyed the play itself more the 2nd time too.
On to Bob Saget: in the first act, I was thinking "oy, he's actually not very good," but he turned me around in the second act. Even his projection (which ljay accurately pointed out is not very strong), improved in the act 2. Pastor Greg really starts to break down in the second act, and I think he pulled that off very well. I agree that he was more shy and genuine than Kudisch. Overall, I would say Kudisch was better, but it was still a treat to see Saget onstage.
For the stage-door: he came out around 10:30 I think. He was very kind and generous with his time. He signed, posed for pictures and chatted with his fans. The crowd wasn't too bad at all. They still use the same v-shaped barrier formation they had before Saget joined the cast, and there seemed to be enough room for everyone.

Hi. I'm seeing the show this Friday night. How was it and does anybody have any information on Bob at the stage door after the show?

Read the post right above yours! I posted about my experience at the stage-door at the end of my post.

Ugh, was in midtown and booked rush for this, which was a mistake... should have waited and done TDF, since people reported much better seats that way. I ended up in front row off to the side...
But they must be pretty optimistic that the rest of this house is going to sell before tonight?! Hopefully, I can move. heh.

I thought Saget did fine in this, btw. I saw the show early in previews, and it is still holding up well, and while Saget didn't really bring anything new and revelatory to the role, he also really did a good job and seemed to gel well with the rest of the cast.
I never did sit in that partial view seat, though. ![]()
