Seeing it on Saturday. Can anyone let me know about the sightlines for this production in the Balcony? The last production I saw at Encores, I don't recall now what, had scenes played way on top of the proscenium so you only saw the actors from the waist down at times. Some of the photos from this production looked like similar staging. Just curious. Thanks! 

I was merely asking, my kind friend, if anyone knew if she planned to be out all week. Nothing major. Thank you to the others here who replied like a gentleman. 

I guess Ms. McDonald is under the weather. I tried for Rush seats for last night and today’s matinee and evening and all those performances lists Ms. Glover playing the part of Rose. Any info? Thanks. 

Thanks for posting Mr. Isherwood’s review. It is spot on, I think. My partner and I saw the play this week. We’ve been together 32 years today. The play really hits home. 

Thanks for the clarification. I still think one could keep certain things to themselves, but it’s all publicity, isn’t it?

Did Ms. LuPone see Ms. McDonald in Gypsy in order to make her “beautiful day” comment? I can’t believe she did because that would have made press. I have loved Ms. LuPone on stage, screen and TV for years but in this horrible climate we’re now living in, kindness would be a refreshing feeling towards others. 

Just saw a picture in the link of this Australian production. A man, dressed in black, is holding a camera in front of the actress. If I see one more video or camera or projection on the stage, I’m gonna spit up. 

I don’t know much about music but I found this when I did a search on Google:

I just read on here that someone thought Ms. Woods has “dead eyes “ while performing Little Lamb. Well, I had a Rush seat down front Orchestra and at that performance, Ms. Woods had tears falling from her eyes. She got an ovation I’ve never heard for this song in prior productions I’ve seen. 

I have seen Shanel Baily twice and she is also wonderful in the role.

Hi. I have seen the show several times in all sections.  I have sat in Orch H10 and it was great so E10 is even better! Usually if you’re right or left of center, you want to be further back for better sight lines but the set is such that being further down front isn’t a problem here. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for posting this, I hadn't read anything about this sad news. In my opinion, no one rivaled her as the Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd. I saw the show 27 times and she was riveting each time. 

To address the “outrageous” prices: they are outrageous. But, I checked Telecharge and you can see Gypsy in the last couple of rows in the Rear Mezz for $69 for some performances. I saw the show from there and it’s fine- maybe better than half of the Orchestra which the Mezz overhangs and cuts the sight lines in half.
