Well, in a few words, Bombay Dreams is about Akaash, a kid from a low class area from Bombay, who dreams of being an actor. Priya, a filmmaker goes to his house with her fiancee, because he is about to buy the neighborhood and that's how Priya meets Akaash, who is going to protest at the Indian beauty pageant and he ends up stealing the spotlight at the protest. Akaash also gets the attention from the biggest and bitchiest Bollywood movie star, Rani. Suddenly Akaash is on his way to stardom and trapped in a love triangle between Priya and Rani. The end is very unexpected. If you can catch the tour, I wouldn't think twice. For The New York Times review of the show and more info

I am seeing it August in Toronto and cannot wait. :) WOOHOOO!!!!
Enjoy it...I had a wonderful time at this show.
I also enjoyed it, saw it twice. It was probably my biggest guilty pleasure of that season.
TABOO was mine, but I really really loved this show. Not very good, but it's glorious to watch and listen to. I still listen to the CD...
Munk-you loved Bombay Dreams? Now I know I will love it. You are a tough customer, so I know it's a fun time. Im more excited than ever. :)
I saw the tour in Costa Mesa, CA earlier this year. It was just ok for me. After seeing the DVD of the London production I expected more. The changes in the script and songs bewildered me.

No doubt it was better on Broadway. But with a lower budget they did a great job for a tour. I loved both productions, but of course the Broadway production was super.
I prefer the Broadway version to the London.
Munk, you saw the show in London too?
