I'd be surprised to learn that any of them have less than a one year contract. That being said, people are let out of their contracts often enough, so that is not guarantee of anything.
A new person was 'welcomed' to the cast as an understudy or standby 00 but I don't know if that meant that someone else left.

Yes, traditionally. However, when an actor extends his stay, it is seldom for another full year.
However, a big name will likely be able to negotiate for a shorter contract.
Dan Radcliffe is leaving H2S in Jan. No one knows if that was always the plan or if he just renegotiated.
Gavin Creel, on the other hand, agreed to a lower pay scale on a short contract (6 months I think) so that IF the show was a hit he could re negotiate sooner for more money. (Hair)
The more 'clout' you have, the more exceptions can and will be made.

Posted: 8/22/11 at 9:52amI saw something in an interview a while back that indicated that Gad, Rannells and James were all on one-year contracts, which means they would be in through March. However, I recently saw something (unconfirmed) saying that Rannells was leaving in December. So maybe that was false, or maybe something else has come up for him--he's so pretty that TV will inevitably come calling.
